Description:
Credit Risk Management functional responsibility in the Private Label Consumer Finance business. Responsible for underwriting policy, valuations, loss forecasting & counter-party risk management for consumer card originations through Private Label Retail partnerships. As part of the senior management team, participate in the development of risk management standards, systems, operating & strategic plans. Responsible for determining the nature and level of risk in business unit financial plans; implement ongoing actions to actively manage loan impairment within operating plan. Ensure risks taken within the business units are adequately rewarded in terms of the economic profit and an efficient use of economic capital consumed.
Partner with cross-functional teams to drive business innovation & new business development initiatives. Manage the development of credit monitoring and tracking systems. Guide the development of economic and portfolio loss forecasts. Ensure compliance monitoring is in place, including processes for management of operational risk, in accordance with Company and regulatory standards. Directly manage teams led by Senior Managers and provide management direction to foster effective recruitment, development and succession planning. Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, related field or equivalent experience, Master's Degree preferred
* Eight years proven credit policy and/or credit risk management/analytics experience, or equivalent
* Strong knowledge and understanding of financial services preferred
* Strong management, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, project management and verbal and written communication skills
* Proficiency with personal computers as well as pertinent mainframe systems and software packages
