Ivy Exec recently interviewed Dr. Hany Malik, Chairman and Founder of Suntiva.  Founded in 2002, Suntiva is comprised of over 100 consultants delivering specialized and cross-functional domain expertise primarily to public sector clients.  The firm has won numerous awards from the Inc. 500 to Consulting Magazine’s Small Jewels to The Washington Business Journal’s Fastest Growing Companies. 

Ivy Exec: In which area of your company do you expect the most growth over the next 12 to 18 months?

Hany: Growth for Suntiva will come from winning more federal government contracts in partnership with large system integrators and large consulting firms.  By working with our strategic partners to deliver high-quality solutions with 100% customer satisfaction in our current accounts, Suntiva has been fortunate to broaden our customer base.  As we continue to grow, our partnerships will be a critical component to establishing opportunities in new organizations.

IE: What changes and challenges do you think your company and industry will see in the next 5 years?

Hany: As a certified, minority-owned small disadvantaged business with 8(a) status, Suntiva has been fortunate over the years to receive “set-aside” contracts reserved exclusively for 8(a) companies. This has proved beneficial in opening doors to many agencies with work that we have leveraged and expanded over time, generating substantial revenue increases and fueling overall growth – in fact, Suntiva is one of the few elite companies that has been on the Inc. 500/5000 list of fastest-growing private companies the previous four years.  Moving forward, Suntiva is faced with setting the foundation for our graduation out of the 8(a) program in 2014, and being able to compete effectively for future government contracts without the advantage of these “set-aside” awards.

IE: What led you to found Suntiva?
