Online retailing in China is growing at breakneck speed and becoming an increasingly significant factor in China’s economy.

It has been a key driver in China’s arduous target of re-orienting itself as a consumer-driven economy, and a catalyst in the global market, offering Chinese e-commerce giants (such as Alibaba) the chance to flex their muscle and expand globally.

Understanding e-commerce and its implications in China means understanding one of the major shifts underway in the global marketplace. Professor Nikos Tsikriktsis, Associate Dean at CEIBS, will give an enlightening overview of this fascinating part of China’s economy, including a look at the opportunities for foreign brands in the Chinese e-commerce market.

Dr. Nikos Tsikriktsis is Professor of Operations Management and Associate Dean (Global EMBA Programmes) at CEIBS. Prior to CEIBS, he was Professor of Operations and Service Management at IMD, Switzerland. Before joining IMD he was a faculty member at London Business School (UK) and at ALBA (Greece).
