Airbnb is a great place to work. We're in a unique period of hyper-growth allowing current employees to have the leverage to make impact at all levels. There's nothing else like it, so the current experience is incredibility valuable. I've met a lot of wonderful people at Airbnb, and the people are what make me most proud about working there.

Sometimes with organizations like Airbnb where strong empathy is a major cornerstone of the culture it can be difficult to say no to colleagues' ideas or proposals. We could be more effective in this area. It is a tricky balance between innovation and trial and error. Airbnb is great allowing employees the runway to try new things even if they fail.

I would implement more processes and structure. Have a more diverse leadership team. Be more empowered regionally.

You get to change the world working at Airbnb.

Great culture, leadership, benefits, and perks. The company takes really good care of all its workers.

Our company culture is a foundation of our core values! All decisions, big and small, are based on the core values.

Current employee - Manager / Senior Manager

The org structure is not sustainable, there are far too many managers for the total population of employees. The company isn't great at making hard decisions and often lets people linger on for a long time, even with poor performance reviews. Our executive staff is mostly inexperienced. Our customer service org needs a lot of work as well.

Highly friendly and collaborative. People tend to hang out outside of work. It might be difficult for an extreme introvert to thrive here.

Current employee - Manager / Senior Manager

You'll work on challenging problems, which can be rewarding, but things change constantly and sometimes the people who lead projects are people who have never done that work before.

There is a ton of growth and change which is exciting but sometimes we don't plan as well as we should.

Current employee - Analyst / Associate

I don't dislike anyone here which extremely rare. People are really aware of each other and there is definitely a much closer bond to coworkers than I ever have had not to mention you can truly bring your whole self to work

There are resources but driving your own growth is important!

I would help the company to have a bit more globalized mindset in ways of working as so much of the center of gravity is out of San Francisco, but besides that its pretty fantastic.

Current employee - Manager / Senior Manager

The company truly lives by its core values and helps to foster that across all employees. It focuses on making sure employees feel that they belong and helps everyone to understand how they contribute to the mission.

Current employee - Manager / Senior Manager

That you need to believe in the mission of creating a world where everyone can belong if you want to thrive, if you are here to just build your career and don't care about the mission, you won't be successful.

The company's core values (belonging, hosting, citizenship, engagement) lead the culture even as we've grown. I've been at the company for less than 5 months and it is a place where I feel that I belong. It is a company of many young people but they are hiring more mature and experienced managers to help scale up - which is a smart business decision. With no offices per se, the building can be a little "sensory overload." It is difficult to find a quiet space to think, reflect -which is why I think many people (if their job allows) do work from home at least once a week.

The company is in a second start-up mode having just launched Trips last week. There is an excitement in the air and people are hustling. Good energy and optimism.

We have a few people in leadership positions who should not be. Everyone who works at the company knows who they are, and nothing is done about it or really will ever be.. so it is just a part of life at this point. But for the most part everyone here is utterly amazing.

Current employee - Analyst / Associate

We put other people first, know each other on a personal level, and generally have a good attitude. People genuinely care about one another and the company's mission.

We're a family.

The culture is amazing.

You can be whatever you want, you are respected by anyone. In Airbnb you aren't a number, you are a person.
