Employee - Senior Vice President

It doesn't get credit on the street for how good it really is. Internally, getting anything done is a frustrating exercise in futility and bureaucracy. It moves like a sluggish behemoth that it is.

Employee - Senior Vice President

BUREAUCRATIC culture

Employee - Associate

Better comps and benefit, better system, better promotion opportunity should be provided

Employee - Associate

Culture was quite energetic at team level, but demoralising at management level.

Employee - Managing Director

more focus on morale and retention of employees; making the investment bank feel cohesive; improve leadership at levels below the CEO.

Employee - Managing Director

Culture is unsettled; finding its path. But despite that there are good people there; huge egos are discouraged, there is a sense of quality and looking out for the customer. Overly regulated by multiple regulators, and minimal ability to push back against irrational regulations.

Employee - Group Managing Director and/or Partner

STOP THE CHOPPING. PLAY FOR LONG TERM

Employee - Group Managing Director and/or Partner

Intellectually challenging, need to be a self starter.

Employee - Group Managing Director and/or Partner

Collaborative culture

Employee - Managing Director

There is a potential need to reduce the face culture in the organization. Also having a stronger CEO who understands investment banking so that a more coherent strategy can be put in place and give a chance for talent to flourish.

Employee - Managing Director

Be prepared to go the extra mile. Don't expect things to be handed to you rather go and find the opportunities yourself. If you do so, reward and support will be very forthcoming. Stay in the background and even if you ate great at your job nobody will care.

Employee - Managing Director

Work hard, play hard but always remember to try and be first.

Employee - Vice President

You were given a lot of latitude to do your job so you could learn quickly. Unfortunately, the culture was a little to cliquey.

Employee - Vice President

A little too cliquey for me

Employee - Managing Director

The history, strength of balance sheet and global ambition.

Employee - Managing Director

Work culture was hard working, fun but cut-throat.

Employee - Associate

Strong culture in US businesses which is also a growth area of the company. May feel remote from senior leadership in London at times (both good and bad implications)

Employee - Associate

I was part of the iShares business at BGI (Barclays Global Investors) - a group that was given entrepreneurial support to innovate and a great culture.

Employee - Analyst

Company needs more organised social events.

Employee - Analyst

Be open and honest always! Its a bank that really cares about its conduct and values.
