Employee - Vice President

It is one of the oldest and largest financial institutions on the planet. The best of the best! We are doing everything to make it even better!

Employee - Vice President

We exist to create exceptional value for our shareholders, customers and our communities. We have a shared set of values and principles that are fundamentally built on our purpose and respect for diversity. We encourage positive growth and development among our peers and hold ourselves to the highest levels of integrity and transparency. It is a fantastic organization to be apart of and they value the unique attributes of each employee.

Employee - Senior Vice President

I would change the culture of the middle management teams. They are not forward thinking as much as they should be in today's banking environment. It's still like joining a "frat club" and getting in good with the seniors.

Employee - Senior Vice President

Align yourself with the right managers and senior leaders.

Employee - Senior Vice President

Too much "politics", if you are not in with the "in crowd" you're out.

Employee - Vice President

Company needs less politics

Employee - Vice President

Good project management and strong communication skills

Employee - Vice President

Good commraderie among team members

Citi is a universe unto itself. Huge by headcount, trading volume, general footprint around the world. No single individual counts for anything. Collaboration and networking is the way to excel. Continuous learning and service is encouraged and recognized. Very inclusive environment. Very competitive to reach beyond SVP. I like it.

Ordinary people coming together to face and solve complex problems

Employee - Senior Vice President

Too many staff that do nothing but watch over others. No clear plan always over react to a issue in the market

Employee - Senior Vice President

culture is every person for themselves

The management in ICG Operations and Technology should change

Employee - Senior Vice President

Citi is huge company and it virtually impossible to make impact on a timely basis. Communication is lacking and people in middle mgmt. and below do not understand the objective of a given task. You go around in circles.

Employee - Senior Vice President

Culture is named "fear" for losing your job. Citi is constantly laying off staff, since they cannot met their revenue budget. Costs are hidden until the last quarter of the year, which impact the bonus pool every year. The management do not care about their employees. Loyality is lacking and diversity is word that is thrown around, but the metrics show differently.

Employee - Associate

CGM requires associates to go through a 6-month generalist program prior to placement, which is like an extended interview.

Employee - Associate

Because of its size and ties to many businesses, especially commercial banking, Citi is not viewed as having the lay prestige that other, monoline banks have, even though the entry and selection process is just as rigorous.

Employee - Associate

Because of its size, culture varies widely by group or team. I would not say there's a consistent, unified culture. There's a fairly high degree of turnover, as is typical in investment banking. The group head sets the tone for each group and others follow.

Employee - Associate

Unfortunately, my tenure was right before and during the financial debacle from 06 thru 2008. Citi was one of the poster faces of the problem. Things were managed wrong at all levels

Employee - Associate

Like most banks, you have to be cunning and cut throat to make things happen
