Employee - Manager / Senior Manager

During my tenure ('74-'92) senior leadership was a good old boys' club. Progressive/innovative thinking was not readily accepted.

Employee - Manager / Senior Manager

Should know that the company's hareholder value trumps all other key performance indicators.

Employee - Manager / Senior Manager

Would suggest a sitting VP in operations.

Employee - Manager / Senior Manager

Wish the company was more worker friendly. Company does not support workers and does not provide appropriate training to help the worker succeed.

Employee - Manager / Senior Manager

They will use you to make goals, then once goals have been met they discard you. Senior management takes all the credit for successes.

Employee - Analyst / Associate

It is a typical Government contracts "company", that exists because of Gov funds. The work is dead end Government work. I was treated like snot. The day before Memorial Day 2009, I was requested to go work on a proposal in rural Massachusetts, leaving on the Monday holiday and returning maybe in 6 weeks or when they said I could, including staying up there on weekends and working 6 day workweeks.

Employee - Analyst / Associate

Promotions based mostly on seniority should be scrapped. Just because someone has worked for a company for a long period of time, qualifies them for management. Individuals with a mix of experience (within & outside the company) can give a different perspective to the management team.

Employee - Analyst / Associate

Not inclusive of different cultures.

Employee - Analyst / Associate

Best to know it's a place that's very political as it relates to career development and advancement. Great stepping stone company.

Employee - Manager / Senior Manager

There is a lack of honesty and moral values.

Employee - Manager / Senior Manager

Watch out. They shake your hand while stabbing you in the back.

Employee - Director

There is a need for General Dynamics to be willing to take more risk in doing development projects. Also more funds need to be allocated to IRAD and proposals.

Employee - Director

There was a definite East Coast bias to personal decisions.

Employee - Manager / Senior Manager

Changes in the management process and the senior leadership is needed. Too top heavy, no structured focus, absolutely no understanding of the end line customer (the war fighter of the US Marine Corps and US Army). No real focus on quality or quality output of product.

Employee - Manager / Senior Manager

Weak culture at best, self-centered on self preservation for the most part. No understanding nor practice of true leadership or quality management.

Employee - Manager / Senior Manager

The company has a great understanding of the business process, but no understanding of the customer.

Employee - Analyst / Associate

I worked at GD in 2003 for about 6 - 8 months. The atmosphere was very rigid then. The environment was not friendly.

Employee - Analyst / Associate

All levels of management needs to be replaced and at least 25% of the employees, to improve morale, build a positive corporate culture, and be a company that could profit outside of the Defense Industry.

Employee - Analyst / Associate

Low morale, poor leadership, poor management actively act in manners contrary to good business methods.

Employee - Analyst / Associate

9/80 work schedule is nice.
