Employee - Vice President (VP, SVP, EVP, etc.)

Solid brand, successful track record, great pay and benefits

Employee - CXO (CMO, COO, CFO, etc.)

Culture. Management style.

Employee - CXO (CMO, COO, CFO, etc.)

Collegiate. Collaborative. Built on consensus. Decentralised.

Employee - CXO (CMO, COO, CFO, etc.)

Household name. Financial strength.

Employee - Director

It is a solid, stable firm with a long and successful history.

Employee - Director

The first 7 years it was a great place to be. After the IPO, including the 3 years leading up to it, the values, focus and temperament of the company shifted, and imho, not for the better.

Employee - Manager / Senior Manager

For the most part there were good continuing ed opportunities. Good bonus plan.

Employee - Analyst / Associate / Consultant

I recommend this firm because it has a great reputation in the industry. Products are designed to meet specific needs. Customer service is high quality. A ding against Prudential is that they change products too quickly, so there are two many variations of the same thing...such as annuities, and to a lesser extent, life insurance.

Employee - Analyst / Associate / Consultant

The people at the local offices made the culture. The office manager planned a sufficiently large number of events for the agents to attend. When I visited the home office, I was a little bit put off because I couldn't go upstairs without an escort (employee), then it took them 15 minutes to send the escort - but only after I called a 2nd time.

Employee - Analyst / Associate / Consultant

While I was not successful everyday on the sales front, the company is very well known and on my resume I can articulate the handful of successes I had. I feel the company is respected by most of its customers, and by the public at large.

Employee - Manager / Senior Manager

I worked for a fabulous medical director who understood the value of preventive medicine. It was a rare opportunity to create a product that would benefit both insureds and Prudential. There is little in the press to inform what Pru stands for now.

Employee - Manager / Senior Manager

At the time, all upper mgt were white males. There was one Black medical director in the Newark location who was well respected, LOTS of women, many of them nurses, in my area but few made it to Director or VP level.

Employee - Manager / Senior Manager

Historically, Pru cared about the health of its employees as well as their insureds. In the 1990's thanks to the head of the Group Medical Dept, Dr Dan Dragalin, they became leaders in providing preventive services as well as risk reduction/wellness programs, mental health benefits, and more. I've not heard anything in many years about their current approach to both the wellness of their own employees nor their insureds.

Employee - Manager / Senior Manager

Great people to work for.

Employee - Manager / Senior Manager

The company culture is growing - open and honest.

Employee - Manager / Senior Manager

The working environment was great.

Employee - Vice President (VP, SVP, EVP, etc.)

Overall, a big company trying to do the right thing. Sometimes a little bogged down in bureaucracy.

Employee - Vice President (VP, SVP, EVP, etc.)

Varies widely depending on department and supervisor.

Employee - Analyst / Associate / Consultant

Pros: Professional organization with close-knit and supportive environment. Many opportunities to advance. Great benefits. Cons: In retirement group several years ago lack of alignment was an issue.

Employee - Analyst / Associate / Consultant

Very much family oriented and collaborative. Retirement group was exception, but collaboration was generally the rule rather than the exception.
