Most Helpful Positive Review

Former employee - Vice President

Rbc employees are generally nice and less competitive for one of the top investment banks. They foster comraderie within the organization and there are many fun events. The location of the office is very good.

Most Helpful Critical Review

Former employee - Group Managing Director and/or Partner

Thick Canadian culture. No conflict is tolerated. Issues are not addressed in the open. Canadian and RBC way (from Canda) is viewed and implemented as the best way regardless of which country it is doing business in.

Former employee - Associate

I would change the management

Former employee - Vice President

Strong focus on oil & gas and metals & mining but weak in technology

Former employee - Vice President

RBC Capital Markets moves slowly, just a large Canadian bank.

Former employee - Vice President

Remote office location so culture was excellent but NYC office was not as collaborative.

Former employee - Vice President

Needs better client interaction and tools for clients

Former employee - Vice President

Fast pace work environment.

Former employee - Vice President

Fast-paced culture

Former employee - Analyst

More open communication from senior management More local control much decision making done in Canada

Former employee - Analyst

Too many key decisions are made without a thorough understanding of the environment

Former employee - Associate

Best tip for success here, just do your job.

Former employee - Associate

A friendly environment.

Former employee - Vice President

I would change the review system such that all reports can also submit feedback on their managers. I believe some departments have 360 reviews but not all.

Former employee - Vice President

The company has a lot of resources for their employees to make their lives easier. I really miss the resources from technology to supplies in my new job/company.

Former employee - Associate

Just a very poor place to work. Low pay/poor benefit package and the list goes on.

Former employee - Associate

They ran it like a dictatorship. RBC would spend big money on trips/meetings, but would not pay it's people competitively. If you like staying at the Carlton Ritz and flying first class and being underpaid, you might like the organization.

Former employee - Analyst

Needs to treat your US employees as you treat your Canadian employees

Former employee - Analyst

If you work in the US you will not be adequately communicated with, you will not be involved in decision making and you will be starved of critical resources. decisions are made in a (Canadian) vacuum with little or no consultation with US stakeholders...it is a Canadian dictatorship and it is crippled by croneyism/favoritism. there are way too many fiefdoms and politics

Former employee - Analyst

Preferential treatment is given to Canadian employees, the US division is treated like a "Red Headed Stepchild"

Current employee - Vice President

Associates see little room for promotion and there is no vision
