Societe Generale's culture is very French. Too political. No drive to make more money. Happy to make some

Global Professional financial institution.

Portfolio management and sales approach needs to be changed, including undewriting process.

Former employee - Associate

Good place for learning and having experience under medium revenues.

Former employee - Associate

Culture is based on four core values: team spirit, innovations, responsibility and commitment.

Former employee - Associate

Senior management could be more open to new ideas. Decision making can be less Paris centric.

Former employee - Associate

Very typical ib culture except sometimes being able to speak French helps the communication.

Current employee - Senior Vice President

Very complex organisation

Current employee - Senior Vice President

Culture is based on team spirit and proudness feeling

Former employee - Managing Director

Should delegate more and also be more client centric

Former employee - Managing Director

Societe Generale is the leader in niches such as equity derivatives

Former employee - Managing Director

Production driven, individualistic and product centric

Current employee - Senior Vice President

Very low pay, short staffing, poor advance opportunity, and no work life balance

Current employee - Associate

It's a toxic culture, with questionable ethics, antiquated European bureaucracy, minimal bonus payments despite promised bonuses (basically breach of contract), and the individuals in the leveraged finance group are scumbags for the most part.

Current employee - Associate

Most important thing to know is to not work here. You can make more money and be happier selling used cars honestly.

Current employee - Associate

Toxic and painful to be in the office

Former employee - Associate

Bureaucratic underperforming French bank with French culture even in the NYC office. Need I say more? Maybe don't promise X bonus and then pay zero - that would be a good start.

Former employee - Associate

I sometimes think about taking Societe Generale off my resume, as I am so embarrassed to be associated by people with such low integrity. It is a culture of defrauding others to make a buck. Wouldn't trust them with my dry cleaning.

Former employee - Associate

Company culture is very French and unbearable. Back stabbing managing directors who will throw out their mid level investment bankers in the middle of the night in order to avoid paying them their bonus. If you like to work for free, you should work here.

Current employee - Vice President

I suggest the company to stop paying below mkt rate as you will keep losing talent to competitors
