No appreciation on effort and no work life balance. No career growth and proper compensation. Very biased towards south Indian employees.

Former Employee - Associate/Consultant

The middle management of the staff is poor in their advising of how job needed to be completed and HR is non-existent as everything is done through their portal and takes days or weeks to be responded to.

Former Employee - Associate/Consultant

All employees cared only of themselves and very few were willing to train new employees who were brought onboard.

Former Employee - Associate/Consultant

Unsure as they are not open with the projects that they are apart of or industries they consult as they assist with other major companies and use them as their umbrella

Very often expertise and experiences of well trained IT Consultants are nullified and compared against cheap laborer with H1B visas and the only comparison factor is the rate per hour. They very often ask for rate before allowing the consultant to see the full job description. There is so much waste of time and resources along the way. That's why ECM projects are made to be complicated even where they are not supposed to be as such. That is all due to inexperience of cheap laborers which very often start the project (because they were cheaper - asked less per hour) and make it unnecessary complicated. At the end of line, some of more experienced IT Consultants were brought up to fix the mess after these inexperienced did it. This became a bad trend. I also notice that already signed experienced IT Consultants were taken in just to pick their ideas for short time and after their ideas are captured they are told not to work any more till further notice or are held back with limited number of hours till a new cheaper laborer are brought at their place.

No offense to some of my great Hindu speaking friends, however, I was sitting on several meetings which started in English and at some point moved on Hindu and at the end of each meeting I had to ask for the summary in English.

I don't even place TCS on my resume. Once they see that - they automatically discard your resume as they know that they messed with you once and you are aware of their malpractice. They prey on young and experienced ones.

It is an OK place to work for. Growth rate is very minimum. Lot of micro management

Employee - Associate/Consultant

Tata is a trusted brand and as an employee there are enough opportunities to learn and grow. The number of clients and the diversity of industries that it serves allows the employee to change domain if so desired. Compensation is food if not really always at par with best in the industry and that might be the single most drawback of the firm. HR policies are employee friendly. Job security is assured for above average performers.

Employee - Associate/Consultant

Team pf highly motivated individuals who sets clear goals and directs the organization towards meeting them efficiently

Employee - Associate/Consultant

The base salary is typically just about average in the market and mostly 30-40% less than the best paymasters in that bracket. Post retirement benefits, other fringe benefits are good. Life insurance coverage and medical coverage also good. However bonus is pretty low as well over the year.

Employee - Associate/Consultant

The work culture appreciates good work and provides an environment of trust. The camaraderie between the employees is what I believe stands out as everyone believes in teamwork and delivering success together.

Employee - Associate/Consultant

As highlighted earlier Tata name resonates with trust and the promise to deliver.

Employee - Principal/VP/Director

Significantly investing on moving upstream. Making all the right moves to leverage very deep client relationships and adding critical high end consultancy skills.

Employee - Principal/VP/Director

Experienced. Client-centric. Focused.

Employee - Principal/VP/Director

As an engagement director and primary client service partner, I am able to work from home 1-2 weeks a month. Concerted efforts to improve minority and female hiring and leadership positions. Bonuses actually get paid....no last minute rule changes or dings for performance not under the employee's control.
