The YMCA of South Florida is looking for an individual with aquatics programming and supervisory experience to join our team as an Aquatics Director. The Aquatics Director is responsible for preparing and administering departmental budget, coordinating swim lessons, as well as developing new programs. In addition, the Aquatics Director will manage the Aquatics staff to include hiring and training of staff as well as ensuring that all safety and risk management procedures are followed.
Meets all assigned program enrollment and program quality benchmarks by marketing and promoting the Aquatics Program.
Ensures that the Aquatics program follows the program standards, policies, and guidelines of the YMCA of the USA as well as state and local codes.
Coordinates schedules of participants for the summer season, swim lessons and open swim..
Keeps abreast of safety and Risk Management and emergency procedures.
Maintains accident reports, records of equipment and safety inspection, and health code records.
Bachelor’s degree in Health, Physical Education or related field, preferred.
Minimum of 2-4 years of Aquatics program experience.
Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as CCC software program.
Must be organized and detail oriented.
Bilingual, English and Spanish, a plus.
Certificates and Licenses:
Must have current certifications or complete within 90 days of hire:
YMCA Lifeguard Certified, Red Cross Lifeguard Certified, Certified Pool Operator and Swim Instructor Certified, preferred.
First Aid/CPR/AED, CPRO and oxygen administration certification
As a condition of employment, you will be required to submit to and satisfactorily clear a thorough Level II fingerprinting background screening.
