Cognizant is seeking a skilled, self-starting GIS Developer to join our IoT Center of Excellence to support lifecycle GIS design and implementation services. You are a subject matter specialist and thought leader-comfortable challenging the status quo to enhance our current services and technologies. Position Responsibilities:


Solve and articulate complex architectural problems with application design, development, and user experiences

Ensure that ArcGIS software meets real-world usage scenarios

Design responsive and intuitive user interfaces for desktop, and web systems

Collaborate with other developers and designers and assist with techie matters as and when required

Program, strategize, and implement GIS tasks within the given time and budgets

Execute all operations with agreement to rules, regulations and norms of the company

Participate with customers to scheme, develop and put geospatial software program packages into effective use

Performing the roles and duties of a task leader as and when the situations demand for GIS

Execute all other roles, duties, jobs and responsibilities of a GIS applications developer that require supervision and direction

Ensure the timely completion and approval of project deliverables; Manage technical resources within budget and project schedules

Identify project risks and plans/implement mitigation actions

Recommend new technologies and techniques for application development

Weekly / monthly project tracking and reporting 

Position Qualifications:


Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or similar field; advanced degree preferred.

12+ years of experience in developing and deploying ArcFM / ArcGIS

Technical skills - ArcGIS JavaScript API, web services, JSON, REST, HTML5, ArcGIS extension tools. ArcFM Data Model,

Electric Utility GIS domain

Oracle Spatial and Database

e2e development process – Requirement, Design, Code Quality, Defect Mgmt

Skilled in stakeholder coordination, communication, and teamwork skills

Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail

Excellent written and verbal communications skills

Ability to go the extra mile for aggressive customer timelines and deliverables
