The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for the planning, directing, implementing and supervising of all clinical pharmacuetical activities in order to optimize drug therapies in a manner that decreases the risk for adverse events while also being cost effective. They conduct continuous performance improvement activities such as medication utilization evaluations, developing medication use criterias and guidelines, and providing educational programs to pharmacy staff, nursing, and licensed independent practitioners. The Clinical Coordonator also provides leadership and oversight of the clinical specialists and their development to make certain that patients and key stakeholders needs are met. They will also serve as the ASHP accredited PGY-1 Residency Program Director to ensure that all accreditation requirements are met as well as coordinate all resident and student activities. In addition they will also serve as Secretary of the Pharmacy & Therapeutics committee. They will work closely with the Assistant Director of Pharmacy to assist the department's compliance with all policies and procedures as well as state and federal requlations. Completion of a PharmD degree from an accredited college/school of pharmacy. Completion of ASHP accredited residency (PGY1). Advanced degree highly desirable (e.g. PGY2 residency training, Board Certification). Clinical pharmacy experience (minimum 5 years) At least 5 years of hospital pharmacy experience and two years of supervisory experience.
