Position Summary


Reporting to the Director of Admissions, the Associate Director of Admissions performs tasks related to the recruitment, retention, and admission of prospects and applicants to the Masters of Social Work program at the Columbia School of Social Work. The Associate Director will leverage the Admissions CRM System (Technolutions Slate) to ensure that prospective students receive a highly personalized enrollment experience. The Associate Director will participate in core admissions functions including recruitment, prospective student counseling and application review. 


Responsibilities


Oversees reporting requirements, and conducts data analysis as needed to support Admissions initiatives; creates and manages Slate queries and reports 20%


Prepare and present weekly prospect, admissions, enrollment and event reports to provide statistical snapshot of progress. 10%


Manages Slate enhancements and assists in Slate training and support 10%


Serve as a liaison between the offices of Admission, Financial Aid, and Student Services 10%


Travel and extended hours required for recruitment; attends graduate fInstitute, workshops on- and off-campus information sessions. 10%


Oversee application review process; distributes files, coordinates schedule of file reviews, coordinates the training sessions for the review process. 15%


Manage and maintain electronic student records within the Admissions CRM system, Ensure that all applicant documents are processed in an efficient manner, for executing timely responses to applicants regarding application status, delivering timely admission decision letters, eBrochures, and for executing email campaigns associated with prospects, applicants, and admitted students. 15%


Coordinate marketing and recruitment strategies, including oversight of the communication plan to address international inquiries; advise prospective graduate international students with admissions processes and visa concerns. 5%


Present at information sessions, attend recruitment fInstitutes and yield events on-campus and offsite. 5%


Minimum Qualifications


Bachelor's degree and/or its equivalent required.


Minimum 4-5 years related experience in higher education


Strong interpersonal, organizational, quantitative and communication skills


Independent judgment and initiative in fulfilling responsibilities.


Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


Must be highly energetic, goal oriented, results driven, creative and team oriented.


Must be able to work independently and well under pressure.


Strong organizational skills required.


Must have fluency of information technologies and possess the ability to rapidly learn and incorporate new technologies.


Technolutions (SLATE) experience highly preferred


Familiarity with or willingness to learn the University Student Information System (SIS) and associated technologies


Must have demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel


Must be available for travel and also evening and weekend work
