Overseas accurate and timely reconciliation of all corporate balance sheet accounts, and of accounting sub-systems, and works closely with Associate Director, Field Accounting to ensure accurate integration of all non-US organizational finance data into corporate accounting systems.
Responsible for overseeing month-end close procedures for corporate accounting departments, and inter-company systems, including conducting review of trial balance.
Manages the development, implementation, and maintenance of all corporate accounting functions within the organization’s accounting software system.
Responsible for overseeing testing, setup, functionality and implementation of corporate accounting software enhancements, and is fully cognizant of integration of accounting system with other systems.
Ensures integrity of all corporate accounting financial data in systems, and that it supports financial reporting and analysis objectives.
Responsible for ensuring corporate accounting system setup and functionality and conduct of corporate accounting processes for indirect cost rate structures, pools, service centers, allocations, clearing accounts, inter-company accounts, etc. within the accounting system.
Responsible for producing monthly organizational financial management reports, ad hoc reports, and corporate accounting KPI’s as applicable.
Manages, prepares, administers, and directs the organization’s annual Uniform Guidance audit and Financial Statement audit.
Responsible for preparation of Schedule of Expenditure on Federal Awards required for annual US government Uniform Guidance audit.
Responsible for preparation of annual audited financial statements, including consolidated financial statements.
Ensures provision of all corporate accounting information to auditors.
Responsible for preparing organizations IRS Form 990 annual filing.
Responsible for preparation and submission of annual Unrelated Business Income IRS tax filing.
Directs the preparation of annual incurred cost proposal schedules and information required to be submitted to cognizant US government agency.
Assists the Director, Accounting with preparation of any Cost Accounting Standards Disclosure Statement changes and submissions to cognizant US government agency.
Assists the Director, Accounting with development of accounting policy and procedures.
Acts as subject matter resource and keeps abreast of any FASB standards and US government CFR and FAR regulations. Recommends changes to maintain compliance as applicable.
Acts as subject matter expert on all corporate accounting topics and ensures resolution of internal and external customer queries and issues.
Responsible for preparation and submission of Department of Commerce and other various government financial and statistical filings.
Provides leadership on corporate finance projects, systems, and procedural enhancements, and ensure best use of available resources.
Provides training, mentoring and technical leadership to departmental staff.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Applied Knowledge & Skills:
High degree of technical accounting competency required. Must have strong project accounting, fund accounting, and inter-company accounting knowledge.
Significant experience using ERP systems or complex accounting software systems required. Knowledge of Deltek CostPoint is desirable.
Strong system and data analytical skills required. Must be able to solve complex problems both individually, and by leveraging team skills and resources.
Strong knowledge and understanding of cost pools and allocations required.
Advanced MS Excel skills required. Good knowledge and skills in other MS Office applications highly regarded.
Proven ability to provide both operational and strategic leadership required.
Must have excellent organizational, supervisory, and managerial skills. Experience in remote management of staff desirable.
Must be articulate and professional, with good communication and negotiation skills.
Demonstrated ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting or business administration or its International Equivalent.
Minimum of 8+ years (10 preferred) related work experience, including 3 years (5+ preferred) experience managing a team of finance professionals at a regional or corporate headquarters level of a medium or large organization. and 3 years working at the corporate or organization level.
Past experience managing a financial accounting department is required.
CPA qualification is highly preferred
