The Associate Director of Cell Therapy Account Management will lead a team of Cell Therapy Account Managers (CTAM) in Canada. The Associate Director of Cell Therapy will be responsible for leading and developing the team in the successful launch of axicabtagene ciloleucel (axi-cel).
The Associate Director is responsible for achieving commercial objectives for the launch of axi-cel through excellence in account plan execution and industry-leading customer service support to all external stakeholders at account level. This role requires extensive travel in Canada to lead the CTAM Team and build strong relationships with key accounts and stakeholders in Canada.
The Associate Director of Cell Therapy Account Management will ensure effective execution of referral strategy that will enable community oncology/hematology centers to refer relevant patients to CAR-T certified centers.
Recruit, hire, lead and retain a team of CTAMs.
Utilize field knowledge and consult with medical and market access to develop / confirm the final account target list and the sequence of certifications
Partner with Medical Affairs to map and profile all stakeholders in the accounts that will be involved in the treatment process
Partner with the cross-functional team to develop and refine the launch strategy and oversee the execution of brand strategies, goals and promotional tactics aligned with customer-facing efforts
Lead the development and execution of strategic account and sales plans, which will include clear goals and tactics aligned with corporate and commercial business objectives
Contribute to the execution of a flawless order and supply process – excellent customer service – supporting the administration of Kite Konnect technology to patients and customers throughout
Develop effective referral strategies that will enable community oncology/hematology centers to refer relevant patients to CAR-T certified centers.
Partner with appropriate internal teams to coordinate the placement and field alignment of all commercial field resources
Develop mechanisms and execute on processes to regularly monitor account activity against goals and provide ongoing feedback to the cross-functional team
Manage the budget and use of budget/resources
Work regularly with direct reports in the field and their assigned accounts
Support the creation and execution of individual development plans for team members
Establish and maintain productive and collaborative working relationships with cross-functional peers and teams across the Kite Pharma & Gilead organizations
Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of cell therapy activities
Develop professional and trustworthy relationships with KOLs & key accounts
Provide the Gilead cross-functional teamwith appropriate feedback and insights from interactions with healthcare professionals and key accounts
Provide support at professional meetings, including staffing exhibits and reporting on scientific sessions
Facilitate and provide timely feedback to BUD Cell Therapy and Canadian Leadership Team regarding account business trends, changes in the therapeutic landscape, performance, industry issues and business opportunities and risks
8+ years pharmaceutical industry experience demonstrating a progression from functional commercial management to levels of more integrated general management, including a minimum of 5 years of pharmaceutical sales management experience.
Fluency in English and French is preferred.
Scientific educational background preferred, MBA or other related graduate-level degree is preferred
Possess a long-term, strategic understanding of the oncology/hematology market in Canada
Proven ability to recruit and mobilize field organizations
Launch experience within hospitals is a must
Knowledge of Hematology & SCT stakeholders, KOLs and others in the hospital setting
Successful track record of building and leading diverse teams in challenging situations
Ability to successfully work and integrate across functional areas
Strong business acumen and ability to evaluate and apply data to inform decision making
Experience with managing large accounts, including strategic planning, problem solving and execution
Extensive oncology/hematology/SCT experience
Working knowledge of regulatory and compliance
Exceptional organizational and time management skills
Outstanding written, verbal and presentation skills with internal and external stakeholders
Demonstrate initiative and a willingness to work hands-on and with a sense of urgency, in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
Proven track record demonstration exceptional customer service
Requires extensive overnight travel
