The Santander Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) VP/Sr. Associate of Purchase & Sales (P&S) Operations of Santander Investment Securities Inc. (SIS) is responsible for supporting and protecting the day-to-day operations of the firm’s equities and fixed-income trading business by conducting end-to-end processes and controls throughout the complete Operations value chain while ensuring:
i) to deliver superior service to clients by driving and optimizing the effectiveness and efficiency of people, processes and technology to enhance financial performance, increasing investment capacity, and managing risk
ii) to build scalable solutions to support delivery of the highest standards of service and execution
iii) to analyze and review data tools, business processes and operational standards to execute service delivery to either internal or external parties
iv) to evaluate that operations meet or exceed company objectives, business needs, service agreements and relevant requirements
v) to research and monitor external landscape to identify developments and translate them into operational implications for the firm.
The position requires a person able to understand the dynamics of business and having experience in Operations oversight task execution and processes.
This person will need to be competent, proactive, proven team player, disciplined and goal oriented. Moreover, this position requires someone highly collaborative and able to assess situations and deal with them in a rational way.
Support day-to-day operational needs for equity and fixed income product processing, clearance and settlement support of our broker/dealer business.
Process daily transactions and ensure established controls have been fully executed.
Run reconciliation across all internal and external system
Serve as a control entity across the front-to-back business flows.
Liaison to internal and external partners and stakeholders
Resolve daily incidents in the activity: investigate breaks in trade processing, ensure confirmation pre-match process with executing brokers, and account confirmations
Follow up with Middle Office and business areas on issues/improvements with customers.
Validate and confirm trade details and associated information
Produce reports and communications
Continually build a scalable support framework

Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree or above
6-10+ years - Experience in the Financial Services Industry Brokerage Operations experience working in Back-office/Operations expected.
Ability to develop resolution to complex problems that require the frequent use of creativity
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Excellent organizational, communication and customer service skill
Exhibit an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity and resourcefulness in decision making and problem solving
Solid judgment within broadly defined policies and practices
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office
Strong influence, relationship building ability and communication skills, both verbal and written
Deep comprehension/Subject Matter Expert for Operational flows of equity and fixed-income post trading lifecycle, support, processing, comparison, settlement and regulations
Strong added plus if already knowledgeable/experienced in:
Options, Derivatives and/or Futures products
Settlements (Intl or Domestic) and/or Middle-Office Trade Support team’s
Broadridge/ADP: BPS and/or NETX360 (Pershing’s proprietary back office system)
Ability to work close to traders and sales in a fast paced environment
Spanish Speaker (will be a plus). Not a requirement
