Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Experience and education regarding provision of a variety of behavioral health services to adults, children, and adolescents, to include familiarity with: service provision, DSM V diagnosis, severely emotionally disturbed children, chronic mental illness, dual diagnosis and integrated treatment for substance abuse and mental illness, treatment planning, treatment coordination, case management, consultation, routine charting, Medicaid regulations, and professional reports. Familiarity with Fairbanks area, Interior Regional, and statewide mental health services and substance abuse treatment providers.
Cross-cultural treatment skills and knowledge of Alaska Native cultures and traditions preferred. Familiarity with the culture and needs of individuals of Alaska Native descent.
Strong computer skills using electronic health records and scheduling systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
Strong verbal communication, analytical and interpersonal skills required.
Must have initiative and prioritizing skills.
Must work as part of a team providing quality care.
Knowledge and ability to adhere to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and 42 CFR Part 2 confidentiality regulations.
Experience identifying and implementing evidence-based practices.
Program development, evaluation, solid organizational skills, and public speaking.
Knowledgeable of and proficient in conflict resolution skills, and assisting others with conflict resolution.
Master's Degree from an accredited university in psychology, counseling, human development, or related field. Licensure required.
Six years of applicable work experience, with at least 4 years of experience in the administrative and clinical supervision and management of a behavioral health program.
Possess knowledge of the theories and approved practices and procedures used in the treatment of children, youth, and adults with mental health/substance use disorder diagnoses.
Experience with Medicaid billing.
Must pass background check pursuant to federal Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act requirements.
Must pass background check pursuant to Alaska DHSS and federal Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act requirements.
