The Business Information Consultant is responsible for analyzing, reporting and developing recommendations on data related to complex and varied business metrics. Typically provides technical assistance to lower level staff.
Acts as the primary business contact in Provider Data quality for multiple Medicaid/Medicare markets.
Requires the ability to develop strong relationships with various business and IT partners (e.g. Health Plan, Encounters, IMO, Account Management, CAM) across the enterprise.
Requires the ability to create detailed business requirements and mapping documents allowing IT partners to develop products.
Creates and maintains databases to track business performance.
Analyzes data and summarizes performance using summary statistical procedures.
Develops and analyzes business performance reports (e.g. for claims data, provider data, utilization data) leads market related presentations and status update meetings, and provides recommendations derived from data analysis.
Creates and publishes periodic reports, as well as any necessary ad hoc reports.
May require taking business issue and devising best way to develop appropriate diagnostic and/or tracking data that will translate business requirements into usable decision support tools. May make recommendations based upon data analysis.
Provides analytic consultation to other business areas, leadership or external customers.
Data analysis and reporting encompasses a much higher level of complexity
Required to track and analyze business issues and make recommendations based upon data analysis.
Responsible for scheduling and leading status update meetings with leadership and other interested parties.
Adhere to Agile change management processes and documentation policies.
Requires a BS/BA degree in related field; 5+ years data analysis or related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Experience with relational databases and knowledge of query tools and statistical software is required.
Ability to manipulate large sets of data is also required.
Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills.
Proficiency in Access and SQL.
