The Business Performance & Strategy team is responsible for driving the strategy and day-to-day operations of the Europe Merchant Sales & Acquiring (MS&A) team. The team works closely with the Head of MS&A and their leadership team to drive sales growth with merchant and acquirer clients across the European region. This includes driving executive engagement and presentation materials, supporting quarterly business reviews, and leading the annual planning process. The team is also responsible for collaborating cross functionally to go to market with initiatives to increase Visa acceptance, deliver end-to-end vertical value propositions, and enable new product adoption. This role requires working in close partnership with colleagues across the Visa business including regional teams, Product, Finance, Marketing, and Consulting.

What we expect of you, day to day.

  • Structure and solve business problems, collaborating and coordinating with a range of internal stakeholders to make recommendations to senior management

  • Help to deliver an aligned go to market approach with Product, Sales, and other internal stakeholders, on key strategic initiatives which could include driving acceptance, digital product enablement, brand visibility updates, or pricing

  • Work on critical projects on a short-term basis as needed to set the strategy and to help get them off the ground. Act as project manager to independently manage timelines, co-ordinate with internal stakeholders, provide executive updates, target tracking, and execution plans

  • Support core business operations functions for the MS&A organization, including emphasis on team engagement and knowledge sharing activities, Finance and HR administrative duties, reporting, and communications

  • Support the structure to enable the market teams to provide feedback, launch new initiatives, and to deliver on sales targets.

  • Maintain excellent commercial and business landscape knowledge to provide solid context for critical strategic projects. Come up to speed quickly on new payments topics and act as a trusted SME within the MS&A team

  • Drive annual and multi-year planning processes with Finance and business teams to establish revenue ambition and key initiatives for future

  • Deliver management reporting for European executives with actionable insights and updates on performance

  • Support development and ongoing measurement of annual scorecard targets for Europe, including managing tracking of the sales pipeline

  • Balance multiple priorities in a fast paced team including responding to executive or client requests in a timely manner


  • Experience in data analysis, management consulting, payments industry, retail strategy, financial services and/or previous strategy or operational functional experience in a global organisation.

  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigour. Effective at building insights from research, data collection and analysis with high competency in Excel required.

  • Project management and leadership skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams and complex multi work-stream projects.

  • Ability to prioritise deliverables and projects to meet timelines efficiently, to adapt to changes in priorities quickly, and to structure and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously with focus on a drive to completion and tangible impact.

  • Proficiency in creating compelling executive presentations.

  • Pro-active and effective communicator, with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic and flexible with ability to influence in a highly matrixed organisation.

  • Knowledge of the payments industry and trends.

Flex Work Arrangement: This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both home and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office three days a week, Monday (Sunday in some countries where Sunday is the start of the week) and Wednesdays. Wednesdays are designated as in-office collaboration days. The third day in the office will be decided based on team needs and determined in partnership with senior leadership.
