The DCRTG Capability Group is in place to be the premier source of configurable hardware technologies for RF Electronic Warfare applications. We aim to be one stop shopping within Electronic Systems for advanced digital receivers, technique generators, and pulse processing capabilities. The Capability Group is currently seeking a Technical Director/Chief Engineer to guide all technical aspects of the group, including customer/program architecture engagement, direction to our growing group of talented HW and FW engineers, and innovation of next generation products.
Be the Capability Group’s Customer-Facing Technical Interface
Drive architectures and develop technical solutions and for CG scope on new program developments via early program insertion and engagement.
Advocate for the CG customer technical community and arbitrate conflicts in architecture and implementation
Educate and influence customers on DCR/TG/P performance and new or existing capabilities
Translate customer needs and system operational requirements to CG technical requirements
Provide technical oversight and engagement with program execution
Interface and engage with Business Development to understand industry needs
Support ECS Architecture Review Boards
Be the Capability Group’s Technical Conscious
Drive and influence architectures within the CG and in program implementations
Drive commonality and leverage in CG developments
Assess current state of FW and DV to drive to modular implementation approach
Collaborate with the CG SMEs in accomplishing these responsibilities
Oversee requirements specifications development within the CG
Drive supportability and produciblity into CG developments
Technical lead on bids and proposals of CG content
Facilitate identification of technical performance risks and opportunities and associated mitigation and realization plans
Drive Innovation within the Capability Group and across the business
Develop technical visions, discriminating technologies, and product roadmap for the Capability Group in conjunction with program, business area, and industry needs
Develop IRAD plans in conjunction with program and business area needs
Initiate collaboration within the Capability Group and with other CGs and the business
Engage with FastLabs to develop the transfer of technology into the Capability Group
Document and submit suggestions for Intellectual Property, Patents, etc.
Required Skills and Education
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 12 years of work or equivalent experience.
Active DoD Secret clearance and ability to obtain DoD Top Secret.
Extensive technical leadership experience and ability to create alignment within the organization.
Ability to establish goals and standards of performance and short and long-term strategic plans.
Experience in hardware development – both digital and RF, firmware development, processor module development, and FPGA design verification.
Exposure to Electronic Warfare domain with knowledge of advanced Digital Architectures, Digital Receiver products for both Electronic Support Measures and Electronic Attack.
Practical understanding of product development and the DoD product development lifecycle.
Proficient in providing technical briefings to internal, executive-level, management and customers.
Highly experienced in facilitation and cross-organization communications.
Demonstrated critical thinking skills and decision-making abilities.
Experienced in development and assessment of risks and opportunities
Preferred Skills and Education
Advanced degree in Engineering plus 20 years of industry experience.
Experience in managing the development of digital and firmware technologies.
Active Top Secret clearance.
Experience as chief engineer in Electronic Warfare development
