Oversees the strategic planning, administration, coordination, and evaluation of assigned business units/ departments/services (i.e., CMG Finance, CMG Finances, and Information Systems/Technology). Provides overall direction and oversight for Financial Statement and Budgeting, Contracting, Physician Compensation and Financial Analysis.Directs and monitors financials to achieve and maintain quality patient care and efficient/effective daily business operations. In this position you will:

Responsible for all identified outcome measures as denoted on Performance Assessment.

Develop, evaluate, monitor and communicate long and short range strategic objectives ensuring consistency and alignment with overall corporate strategic objectives.

Coordinate and manage the annual budget process for the corporation, including development and maintenance of three and four year business model.

Lead the development and implementation of financial reporting ensuring that policies and procedures are consistent and in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures and in compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Provides administrative oversight and direction for assigned business units/departments.

Operates within established budgetary parameters and provides complete and accurate input with respect to the annual budget.

Collaborates with Covenant Health System financial management, and/or budgetary plan.

Imparts statistical and financial information to the Covenant Medical Group Board and Covenant Medical Group Finance Committee on a regular basis.

Assures Human Resources and Administrative Policies & Procedures are appropriately administered in assigned areas of responsibility.

Demonstrates knowledge of and performs in accordance with the mission, vision, values and strategic objectives of the organization.

Promotes a work atmosphere conducive to staff development and motivation by consistently demonstrating a positive and supportive attitude.

Maintains effective and cordial relationships with medical staff, employees, patients, their families and guests.

Meet with new physician recruits to explain the physician compensation model and to answer questions about their employment contracts

Meet with employed physicians on an as needed basis to explain the physician compensation model and/or contracting questions

Lead role for the coordination of contracting, physician compensation, and financial analysis for the Covenant Branch Campus of Medical Education program with Texas Tech University of Health Sciences Center, which currently includes 96 physicians.

Collaborate with Vice President of Managed Care with negotiations of insurance contracts with Insurance Companies, to include shared savings and at risk models

Collaborate with Covenant Health Partners to develop and monitor at risk goals for physician employment contracts

Responsible for implementing and monitoring all administrative and financial requirements for each contract, to include insurance, employment, and other operating contracts

Work directly with CEOs for Covenant Medical Center and Covenant Children’s Center, as well as CEOs for 6 regional hospitals on physician contracting, physician compensation, and budget variances.

Lead role for rolling out the implementation of contracting and creation of productivity incentives for approximately 50 mid-level providers.

Understand and assist with the implementation ofvarious regulatory changes, such as the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA)

Required qualifications for this position include:


Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or business related degree.

Master's Degree in accounting, finance or business related degree a plus.


3+ years’ experience in healthcare finance for Physician Medical Groups.

7+ years previous Healthcare Finance experience.

5+ years Supervisory/Management Experience

Experience working with Executive Management and Boards of Directors.

Experience with Physician Compensation & Agreements, Fair Market Value (FMV), RVUs, and PFS Conversion factors.
