We are seeking a talented Chief Accounting Officer to lead the accounting organization and is responsible for the strategic direction of the accounting organization, the control structure in place over accounting and external reporting, regulatory reporting, managing our external financial audits and leading the accounting team to implement the systems, processes and controls that support a growing financial technology company.
What You Can Look Forward to
Responsible for supervising the accounting, tax, treasury and regulatory filing functions.
Partners with the CFO to determine accounting and tax implications for all material business decisions.
Establishes and executes the strategic direction of the accounting organization.
Implements enterprise financial accounting applications to improve processing and controls.
Recommends and implements process improvements to support a growing financial technology company including the acceleration of our accounting close.
Engages with Executive Leadership Team to identify opportunities to improve our accounting systems, practices and policies.
Improves the strategy business partner alignment with our Executive and Senior Leadership Team.
Oversees regulatory reporting, tax compliance and strategy.
Ensures appropriate internal control structure around financial reporting.
Oversees all accounting operations, the closing process, and other financial controls.
Oversees General Ledger functions including accuracy, timeliness, and conformity with professional accounting standards and best practices in accordance with GAAP.
Serves as a liaison to external auditing firms, while owning primary responsibility for the Company’s views on technical accounting matters.
Stays up to date on industry changes and current tax/accounting laws and ensuring the adoption of new standards in a timely manner.
Collaborates and contributes to the Senior Leadership Team and the Board of Directors to improve overall company performance.
Partners with the finance organization to identify opportunities to improve our financial forecasting accuracy.
Responsible for reporting risks that are identified to the appropriate team and/or management. Additionally, responsible for managing, monitoring and reporting risks within the scope of your work area, to include, but not limited to Information Security risks.

What You’ll Need to Succeed
Completion of high school, or equivalent.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting plus minimum 15 years of progressively responsible accounting experience or equivalent training and/or experience.
Certified Public Accountant.
Extensive experience working with Audit Committees, Internal Audit functions and External Auditors.
Understanding of tax regulations and compliance.
Expertise in leading accounting organizations for large, growing companies.
Experience in deploying enterprise systems to support a growing organization.
Knowledge of internal control environments over accounting and financial reporting.
Knowledge of enterprise software applications for accounting, invoicing and payables.
Knowledge of GAAP accounting and reporting requirements for privately-held companies.
