The NOAA Systems Engineering and Technical Services (SETS) program provides enterprise systems engineering support to the NOAA satellite ground systems and collected data. NOAA operates geostationary satellites, low elliptical and high elliptical satellites. NOAA shares data with many countries.
We are seeking a Chief Architect to design architectures that include software, hardware, and communications solutions to support the total requirements, as well as provide for present and future cross functional requirements and interfaces. The selected Architect ensures architectures are in compliance with open systems standards as they apply to the client’s environment.
Responsibilities will include:
Evaluate compatibility of information system development efforts with agency architectures and recommends adjustments, as
Evaluate problems of workflow, organization, and planning and develops appropriate corrective action.
Work with clients and others in development of product definition and requirements, developing project scopes of work, budgeting, and project
Provide guidance and direction to less experienced systems architects, may include technical knowledge of workflow processes, document management systems, document imaging software, network requirements, and imaging
BS Degree in engineering, IT or hard science; MS or greater in a technical discipline highly desired
Minimum of a 12+ years’ experience in the field of ground systems / satellite systems or if you possess MS, 10+ years of experience in the field of ground systems / satellite systems
Demonstrated experience and understanding of Cloud architectures
US Citizenship and eligibility to obtain Public Trust Clearance
Desired Qualifications: Experience with Satellite Ground Systems, NOAA or NASA systems.
