The Chief Commercial Officer is responsible for directing all activities related to Business Development, Marketing and Sales.This role will primarily manage and drive global sales efforts, overseeing Military / DoD, commercial, private-party, and government sales. This position will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Carry full P&L responsibility on all business development activity including new business and existing relationships.
Responsible for overseeing all international clients which could involve foreign governments and corporations; which could require travel abroad.
Provide input at the officer level related to any company issues which impact revenue or cost.
Propose business solutions to achieve profitability.
Responsible for the branding and image of MD Helicopters.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Prior experience as VP, SVP, EVP or Head of Sales in aerospace/aviation industry, specifically helicopters, required.
Must have the experience and ability to initiate and spearhead major business development efforts for MD Helicopters - frequently in the $50MM plus range.
Ability to lead and manage; to build upon the experience and success of the existing sales team by mentoring and further developing the group.
Strong background in business development and new deal origination.
Experience with capture of major government contracts.
Demonstrated history of growing sales, margin and market share in the aerospace industry.
Must be highly motivated, a true self-starter.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and people management skills.
Superior communication skills with the ability to present ideas in a clear, concise manner; will adapt communication style as needed.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from a leading institution and 15+ years of Aerospace business development or sales with a track record of increasing responsibility.
Must have a substantial book of contacts across the aerospace industry within the military (Army)/DOD, commercial and government.
