Reporting directly to the Corporate Vice President – Health, Safety, Environment, Product Stewardship, and Sustainability for Honeywell, our Chief Environmental Counsel will be a trusted partner and key advisor for all aspects of our global manufacturing footprint and subject matter legal expert for our remediation sites. Below are the four major areas of responsibility:


· Environmental Remediation Litigation & Support (~300 remediation sites)


oManage all legal aspects of environmental remediation globally (~300 sites):information requests; remedial investigation, remedy selections, remedy implementation, O&M


oWith technical staff, manage allocation of costs with other Responsible Parties


oNegotiation with regulators over investigation/remedy decisions


oCoordinate with Communications, GR & tech on involvement of stakeholder such as residents, neighbors, politicians, media, NGOs to develop strategy to cost effectively resolve liability


oBrief senior management on significant legal developments and settlement proposals


oManage drafting and strategy for Brownfields and liability transfers


oManage AP attorneys; hire additional outside counsel as needed


· Legal support for all aspects of HSPES compliance (~300 factories globally)


oManage legal response to noncompliance issues for all aspects of HSEPS


oWork with Arnold & Porter; hire outside counsel as needed globally


· Have networks in place with EU, LATAM, APAC


oTrack developments globally in statutory, regulation, policy, political, legal


oCoordinate with HSEPS staff, GC, business leaders on management system process to improve performance and prevent non-compliance, accidents, injuries etc.


oAssist with HSEPS SEC filing information


oLegal support for emergency incident responses.


· M&A/GRE (Global)


oManage legal aspects of due diligence (buy/sell sides)


oLegal support for deal approval process


oDevise risk mitigation strategies for M&A deals


oDraft appropriate terms and conditions for M&A contracts; deal approval process


oLegal support for HSEPS aspects of GRE deals:buy/sell/lease/access


YOU MUST HAVE

Juris Doctor (JD)

10+ years of legal experience

Experience in a major law firm or corporate legal department

Ability to influence at varying levels of the organization

Ability to deliver on complex situations

Communications skills and credibility

Work independently to drive key initiatives
