The President and CEO, working in partnership with the FCC Services Board of Directors, is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the company and leading day-to-day operations of FCC Services.The President & CEO will work with the Executive team to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies. The President & CEO will also be responsible for developing and maintaining the human capital to accomplish the corporate objectives and goals, and communicating successes and challenges to the Board of Directors. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Development & Implementation: Ensures effective strategies and business plans are developed and implemented which will permit FCC Services to grow and attain its goals. Evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies, address major issues, and operate efficiently. 

Organizational Structure: Assures FCC Services has the proper organizational structure, Human Capital/Talent, and management to achieve its corporate objectives to serve the Farm Credit System’s entities and others outside of the Farm Credit System (e.g., rural cooperatives, municipalities, other key clients, et. al.). Create and maintain an effective Succession Planning process for the executive leadership team and other key positions to attract and retain key talent.

Working Relationships: Ensures key team members, including the President & CEO,develop and maintain effective working relationships with current and potential FCC Services customers and external organizations, including the Captive Board of Directors and the Farm Credit Council (parent company) Board of Directors and staff.

Program Development: Ensures programs are developed and are responsive to the expressed needs of the FCC Services’ customers.Develops and manages new opportunities that assist customers in improving profitability and competitiveness.

Corporate Finances: Develops a corporate budget, consistent with FCC Services plans, obtains approval of the FCC Services Board and ensures plan objectives are met within approved budget parameters.Keeps the FCC Services Board fully informed about FCC Services activities and significant business developments. Provides timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends. Responsible for continued operational improvement and efficiency to enhance profit margins where possible.

Internal Controls: Ensures appropriate internal controls, policies and procedures are established to protect FCC Services assets and; that approved controls, policies and procedures are regularly evaluated for adequacy.

Coordinate Farm Credit Meetings: Works with Farm Credit executives to share best practices, facilitate System-wide organizational meetings and work with the Farm Credit Council to foster a common System approach to business and legislative issues.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree.

Ten plus years of progressive supervisory experience.

Demonstrated cross-functional leadership experience.

Demonstrated experience in strategic thinking and financial analysis.

Proven ability to work independently without daily oversight or direction.

Proven ability to model the organization’s CART of values to include Communication, Appreciation, Respect and Trust.

Experience in developing, implementing and measuring the success of a strategic plan.

Demonstrated high level of professionalism, integrity, business conduct and ethical behavior.

Must be able to travel on business up to 30% of time.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS OF POSITION

Experience in insurance/risk management and organizational development disciplines preferred.

Experience in professional services firm preferred.

Demonstrated Business development and relationship building skills.

Strong presentation skills.

Demonstrated leadership experience balancing many priorities.

Appreciation of, or direct experience in, agriculture and rural America.

Comfort with, and understanding of, working with a Board of Directors.
