The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for all financial matters at Homebridge and serves as a senior leader of the organization. Reporting to the Executive Director, the CFO will partner with Homebridge senior leadership, department directors and, the board of directors to develop and implement strategies across the organization, with responsibility for Finance, Strategic & Business Planning. They will work with the ED in strategic planning, evaluation, and other initiatives, as well in shaping the organization’s unique culture and values. This is a tremendous opportunity for a leader with finance and planning experience to maximize and strengthen the internal capacity of a well-respected and growing organization. The CFO will manage and mentor a professional staff of six fulltime employees, including a controller and accounting staff.


 RESPONSIBILITIES


 Strategy & Planning


As business partner to the ED and department directors, develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information through a disciplined planning process and to make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations

 Oversee long-term budgetary planning, including revenue generation and cost management strategies, in alignment with Homebridge’s strategic plan

 Direct organizational strategic planning at the staff and board levels. Create a process of goal-setting and reporting that flows logically and seamlessly between all layers of staff and the board

Engage the board finance committees around issues, trends, and changes in the operating model(s) and operational delivery



 Finance


 Plan, implement, and manage all financial-related activities of the company, including budgeting, accounting, forecasting, payroll, retirement plans, tax filings, audits and insurance

 Ensure the integrity and accuracy of Homebridge’s financial reporting

 Develop and utilize forward-looking, predictive models and activity-based financial analyses to provide insight into the organization’s operations and business plans

 Coordinate the development and monitoring of budgets

 Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures

 Drive technology and process enhancements to ensure Homebridge can function effectively at scale

 Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions

 Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed



 Partnerships & Other Duties


 Advocate for Homebridge’s mission, clients and employees

 Participate in organizational strategy and policy development as a member of the senior management team

 Represent Homebridge to financial partners, including financial institutions, funders, auditors, public officials, etc. Develop strong relationships which enhance Homebridge’s standing in the community and ability to fund its operations

 Supervise and provide professional development opportunities to the Controller.



CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE


Education: 


 A bachelor’s degree is required. Accounting or Business Administration degree preferred.


 Master in Business Administration (MBA) degree highly desirable.


Experience:


 At least five years of senior financial management experience

Experience working in the non-profit or public sector

Experience having final responsibility for the quality and content of financial data, reporting and audit coordination for an organization or program area

At least seven years of total accounting/finance experience

 Direct experience at organizations with budgets of $5M+

 Strong knowledge of accounting and reporting software (Intaact experience desirable)

Experience at integrating IT/Systems to improve accounting productivity and accuracy

Experience at working with external auditors, compliance and regulatory oversight

Experience at change leadership and change management

 Knowledge of Office Suite and Excel and familiarity with software like Salesforce and Quickbooks

 A track record in monitoring/managing government grants or contracts
