Leading Healthcare - Hospitals Company’s headquarters is outside of Chicago, in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois.
The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the company by working with the Executive Management Team to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies. The CFO will serve as the chief financial spokesperson and will oversee all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to the Company’s accounting, treasury, financing, tax, budget and contract management, cost analysis and reporting and forecasting.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Partnering with the CEO and the executive team to build, develop, and execute financial and accounting strategies/ processes and systems that effectively meet, support and enhance the Company’s objectives
Evaluate and contribute to the improvement of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and superb execution
Ensure timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends to lead the Board and CEO to sound decisions
Develop a reliable budget and forecasting process, and reporting mechanism that includes balance sheet, income statement and cash flow
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements
Implement financial analyses that lead to new ideas and better decision-making throughout the organization
Manage cash flow to maximize long term shareholder value growth
Oversee the activities of the Corporate Accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, annual audits and budgets
Evaluate the finance division structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group and provide individuals with professional and personal growth
Ensure the timely completion of monthly, quarterly and year-end financial closing processes
Oversee the approval and processing of revenue, expenditure, and position control documents, department budgets, salary updates, ledger, account maintenance and data entry to insure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and all legal requirements
Establish and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards, including the ability to meet Sarbanes-Oxley requirements should the company decide to go public
The CFO leads the Finance and Accounting department, including Accounts Payable, Cash Applications, Treasury, Accounting, Internal Audit, Collections, Payroll, Financial Analysis, Acquisition analysis, Capital Investment assessment and Tax. The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these departments and the included employees.
BS in Finance or Accounting required
10 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position (CFO or Controller) in a large organization, including proven experience or knowledge in the following areas:
Strategic financial planning and execution
Finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including GAAP
Financial data analysis and preparation of financial reports, statements, and projections
Federal and state financial regulations
Automated financial and accounting reporting systems
5-10 years hands-on managerial experience in the areas of general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, cash applications and/or income tax, or equivalent time in a public accounting firm
Exceptional written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
A self-directed leader with a strong operational focus
Able and skilled in simultaneously managing several projects
A team player who possesses excellent communication skills and can relate to people at all levels of an organization
Sound technical skills, including proficient knowledge of various software applications used in Finance
Master’s Degree in Finance or Accounting / MBA
The CFO position requires 20% travel.Employees are responsible for creating and submitting expense reports each week for expenditures incurred during travel.
The position requires considerable sitting, typing and the ability to move objects of less than 25 pounds.
The working environment is indoors and is seasonally heated and cooled with minimal noise levels.The position requires the ability to communicate in person, telephonically and via email.
