As a member of our Executive Leadership Team, the CFO is primary focused on the fiscal activities of the organization and operations of our Thrift Shop. Using both strategic leadership skills and hands-on implementation, the CFO will lead on activities including, budgets, financial planning, accounting, audit, contract and investment management, while also overseeing the operations of our Thrift Shop. The CFO reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Your Responsibilities Include...
Development and monitoring of agency fiscal management policies, and procedures, operating plans, capital expenditure processes, reporting and analysis.
Guiding the CEO and Board of Directors (BOD) in the formulation of compliant fiscal governance policies.
Preparing cash flow, forecast, and key performance indicator reports, as required by the CEO and BOD.
Preparation and filing of tax reports and exemptions protecting and ensuring the full utilization of the agency’s tax-exemption status.
Directing and preparing the annual independent financial statement audit and program finance audits.
Overseeing the operational activities relating to accounting, claims, purchasing and payroll.
Hiring, direction, and supervision of all functions and personnel in the Finance Department and Youth Homes Thrift Shop (currently this position has 2 direct reports).
Collaborating with agency leadership to identify any causes of significant variance and related corrective actions.
Maintaining records of investments and properties owned by the agency and preparation of reports on these items.
Approval and monitoring of purchase requisitions, orders for capital expenditures, and non-routine and material on-going expenditures.

You Must Have:
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration from an accredited university or college.
5+ years’ experience as a Senior Financial Officer.
Knowledge and understanding of AICPA guidelines for non-profit health and welfare organizations.
Demonstrated leadership experience with operating plans, reporting, analysis, internal and external financial reporting, internal control framework, contract negotiations, review and approval.
Savvy technological skills with exceptional Microsoft Excel, Word, and O365 experience.
Extensive experience in a variety of large system accounting, Electronic Medical Record and payroll software systems.
Valid California driver’s license with no restrictions and must be over the age of 21 (licensing requirement).
