The Chief Financial Officer will collaboratively develop and guide the financial vision as a member of the leadership team.This person will advance financial acumen across the organization to connect operational performance with business objectives.The CFO will successfully guide long-range financial strategies to ensure financial health, compliance and progress, while developing shared expectations around operational performance indicators.In partnership with the CEO, the CFO will help create the framework for making financial decisions in connection to the company’s values, culture and people.
Partner with the CEO and senior leadership team to set long and short term financial plans and goals.
Engage on issues, trends, data and changes in the business and competitive environment to provide strategic and operational guidance to the CEO and leadership team.
Continuously assess and communicate organizational performance against budget and strategic financial objectives to meet short and long-term growth goals.
Lead the modeling and analysis of future business scenarios and strategic choices.
Partner with the CEO to craft messaging and regular presentations to internal and external audiences
Financial Planning & Analysis
Oversee the creation of reporting packages, in support of providing business partners with timely and insightful summaries of financial results. Highlight results to leadership team and provide recommended action steps.
Lead collaboration on sales-driving and cost efficiency initiatives, providing the financial framework to support decisions and to analyze results.
Responsible for leading and driving the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
Act as a thought-partner for department leaders to inform financial decisions with intuition and awareness of competitive and creative influences that drive the company.
Provide projections, analysis, and guidance for consideration when analyzing business initiatives and opportunities, making course corrections or other important decisions that have significant financial implications.
Facilitate discussions and advise on decisions around capital budgeting to drive long-term value creation and develop capital expenditure plan.
Accounting, Reporting, Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of financial and management reporting. Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly and annual financial statements.
Manage working capital by driving improvements in the areas of credit and collections, and vendor and customer terms.Work with supply chain to improve inventory management.
Advise and guide insight towards rolling forecasts, treasury processes, budget adherence, internal controls, inventory management controls, tax strategy, risk management practices and compliant reporting to local, state, and federal authorities.
Accountable for total company level compliance and governance and continuous improvement.
Recruit, retain and develop a team that delivers excellence while fostering a collaborative, authentic and inclusive team environment aligned with the company’s culture.
Demonstrate cross-functional collaboration and a spirit of service to business partners at all levels within the organization.
Build, maintain and role-model collaborative relationships across the organization and with external partners.
Direct reports Director of Purchasing; Director of IT; and the finance/accounting team
15+ years of finance and accounting experience in companies with excess of $300M in revenues.
Experience in manufacturing is required; natural resources, distribution and sales strongly preferred
Undergraduate degree in Finance or related business field. CPA is required, MBA strongly preferred.
Exceptional results orientation, with a high degree of personal initiative and leadership, in a lower-resource environment.
Outstanding analytical skills and a proven ability to connect data analysis with business issues and decisions. Advanced Excel and modeling skills required as this is a hands-on CFO role.
