The Chief Information Officer (CIO) (Community Health Plan - MD Medicaid) is responsible for providing vision and leadership for developing, managing and implementing information technology initiatives.The CIO directs the planning and implementation of the organizational Information Technology (IT) systems in support of operations in order to improve cost effectiveness, service quality and development. This individual is responsible for the design, modification, implementation, and evaluation of information and information technology strategies for the organization. The CIO will have ownership of the IT vendor contracts and relationships within the organization necessary to deliver business objectives.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



Serves as the key executive for information services and is responsible for Information Technology and Informatics departments short and long-term strategic direction. Leads the development and implementation of IT strategy, architecture, and direction for the company, including process improvement activities.



Oversees an IT environment that is efficient, scalable, and secure; an infrastructure that meets all regulatory requirements for Company and the clients supported. Leads the vendor management and contract negotiation for enterprise IT services.



Provides vision, direction and oversight for information systems and technology and has overall responsibility for the direction, coordination and management of IT business needs that support overall corporate objectives. Encourages and educates leaders on how to make technology-enabled decisions. Directs IT initiatives and conducts program and project reviews.



Supports and provides expertise to other functions and programs, as needed.

Education Level: Bachelor's Degree

Education Details:

Experience: 8 years Extensive experience managing an enterprise IT environment that encompasses wide area network services, directory and messaging services, desktop computing, enterprise applications, and mobile solutions. Experience developing and implementing IT roadmaps for new technology initiatives and 3 years management experience.



In Lieu of Education



In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Proficiency

Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. Expert
