The Chief Information Officer is responsible for developing, leading, administering and coordinating all phases of the organization’s information technology and telecommunications functions, including systems design, programming, installation and operation. The CIO will lead the enterprise in planning and implementing system wide information technology to support clinical and business operations and achieve efficient and cost effective enterprise-wide operations. This individual will keep current on developments in information systems technology, will plan for future growth including upgrades and keep abreast of governmental regulations applicable to systems operations and ensures corporate compliance. This position supports shared technical services across Springstone’s entire organization.

Responsibilities and Duties

Developing an IT vision, strategy, and a roadmap, and leading the IT team and its business partners in effective execution.

Managing and overseeing IT processes including system applications, training, systems maintenance and recovery, back-up, security, new system implementations and interfaces.

Ensure, on an ongoing basis, that current and planned technical architecture, investments and solutions are aligned with company business objectives.

Prepare and monitor IT operational budgets that meet prevailing objectives and constraints.

Build strong relationships with business groups and their leaders across the enterprise, and develop a detailed understanding of their issues, challenges and opportunities.

Implement the most appropriate and effective IT organizational design to support the business.

Overseeing technical aspects of the organization's website.

Oversight of various applications including general ledger, accounts payable and purchasing systems, billings systems, and time and attendance systems.

Interacting with internal and external management including department heads, vendors, and their teams.

Supervising and actively participating in project-based work.

IT replacement and sustainability.

Systems methodology for development, acquisition, and integration.

To define procedures and protocols for communication of requirements from programs and functional areas.

Systems Oversight and Development

To prepare an overall portfolio of systems applications with a realistic path for integrating existing applications.

To work with department heads and programs in the conceptualization of systems projects.

To work with external partners and collaborators in formulating and planning IT-focused projects.

To prioritize systems development and integration projects.

Builds and Leads a High-Performing Team

Hire, develop, evaluate, reward, and retain a highly-qualified team of IT professionals.

Foster a culture of innovation, transparency and accountability in IT.

Develop and maintain a plan that provides for succession and continuity in the most critical IT management positions.

Directs the development of IT sourcing strategy and provides executive oversight for strategic vendor and partner relationship management.

Required Skills

Requires prior healthcare a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field or equivalent experience. A Master’s degree in Health/Hospital Administration, Public Health, or Business Administration, or related field is highly desirable.

Demonstrated experience driving digital transformation and business growth through innovation and the implementation of technology.

Possesses solid knowledge in emerging technologies, and the ability to apply these in the service of the company’s key business goals.

Experience leading complex, major change initiatives; demonstrated skills in change management.

Experience building an enterprise level data analytics capability.

An entrepreneurial mindset; able and interested to pursue new business opportunities.

Customer-service oriented.

Builder of strong technology vendor partnerships, and able to manage multiple vendor relationships to ensure the best performance and financial return.

Knowledge of a range of vendor technology solutions; able to select and integrate the most appropriate technologies to support the business

Demonstrated ability to design and implement comprehensive approaches to cyber security and risk management.

Experience designing and managing an effective IT governance framework across the spectrum of IT service delivery.

Outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, high pressure environment.

15+ years of experience serving as a Director of IT in a healthcare organization / hospital or significant related experience

8+ years of managerial experience

Strong communication and organizational skills
