The Technical Solutions division of Huntington Ingalls Industries is looking for a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to provide strategic and operational leadership for the division’s cybersecurity responsibilities over processes, risks, technology, network, data and tools. The selected candidate will be required to ensure the division has the correct governance, compliance controls, oversight and validation across all aspects of the enterprise. 


The individual filling this role must have:

• Minimum 5 years of IT management experience.

• Minimum of 7 years of increasing responsibility in cybersecurity functions

• Minimum of 12 years of increasing responsibility in corporate technology functions.

• Strong knowledge of industry and regulatory requirements.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or similar field of study is highly desired. 

• Government contracting

• 5 years working in a company with an international presence

• Knowledge and understanding of GDPR

• Some background in effective cybersecurity training


Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:

• Develop the information security strategy that will take HII-TSD forward for the next five years, that successfully secures our networks and data including on-premis, public and private cloud operations, inside and outside the US, for government and commercial contracts.

• Develop and implement policies, procedures, systems, tools and training in conjunction with our parent organization and other divisions.

• Create high-performance teams for cybersecurity operations risk management, compliance and forensics.

• Develop, retain, and recruit the talent needed to successfully execute against the security strategy and drive on-going operational excellence

• Create the cybersecurity budget and manage all aspects of spend in the space.

• Consult with business partners as new opportunities arise that require cybersecurity guidance, support and oversight

• Maintain compliance with NIST, DFARS, ISO, SOC2, etc. policies and procedures where applicable.

• Ownership of formal incident and breach response plans and the execution of those plans.

• Primary point of contact for all aspects of cybersecurity operations, forensics, compliance and risk management

• Primary point of contact for collaborative cybersecurity work with parent company and other divisions

• Build and maintain effective relationships across the division, and the company.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

•Designs, tests, and implements state-of-the-art secure operating systems, networks, and database products. 

•Conducts risk assessment and provides recommendations for application design.

•Involved in a wide range of security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access. 

•Uses encryption technology, penetration and vulnerability analysis of various security technologies, and information technology security research. 

•May prepare security reports to regulatory agencies.

Basic Qualifications


•Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline or the equivalent in education, training and experience, plus a minimum of 10 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience. Master's degree and 8 years of relevant work experience.
