Drive Producer origination efforts:
Work with Group Head to set annual producer origination targets and budget; manage achievement throughout the year.
Cultivate information sharing and best practices amongst producers, including facilitating regular department and pipeline meetings. Travel to Company offices across the country to present and hold training sessions on core FHA programs as needed.
Assist FHA Group Head in recruiting efforts.
Source FHA loan opportunities through direct borrower relationships for producers to pursue (e.g., meeting with key clients, assisting the department with maintaining relationships, identifying new borrowers and negotiating and closing deals).
Oversee technology initiatives to enhance production efficiency:
Participate in Salesforce steering committee to improve and leverage existing system.
Monitor and push Producers sales activities through Salesforce’s Borrower Contact reports, lost deal reports, etc.
Work with Group Head to update existing pipeline management reports.
Partner with Marketing to promote business development efforts, conferences, borrower events, speaking engagements and press releases.
Manage Producer development:
Drive Producer goal setting and performance review process.
Work with HR, Marketing and external sales trainers, as appropriate, to develop group and individual training.
Groom internal team members to become independent originators.
Effectively handle personnel issues as needed.
Provide strategic guidance on managing borrower’s rate expectations and driving profitability at rate lock.
Develop and maintain strong communication channels with clients, producers, and the Underwriting team to assist in management of expectations throughout the underwriting and due diligence process.
Be a solution provider; provide oversight and guidance to producers on transaction structuring and best practices.
Visit each office regularly and support the expansion of new offices.
Support the lending platform:
Manage key borrower and correspondent relationships. Visit top borrowers annually.
Promote cross selling among all Walker & Dunlop departments and products.
Work with Group Head to develop complimentary products for FHA production (ex. Bridge lending).
Engages in other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree (prefer finance and/or real estate concentration). MBA a plus.
Prefer 10+ years of sales management experience with an emphasis on FHA financing.
Life Company, Bank, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac experience a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to travel extensively.
Demonstrated ability to lead a sales force and develop a team.
Excellent communication skills, written and oral, through all levels of the organization.
Strong relationship building skills for both internal and external partners.
