The role is to develop and deliver underwriting guidelines within the framework of risk appetite, underwriting appetite, limits management and emerging risks.The leader will collaboratively develop a business strategy to successfully propel Auto segments into a significant and profitable long-term, sustainable leadership position in the market in support of the company’s ROE objectives over the long-term; this includes detailed monitoring standards / quality reviews to assess loss ratios and underwriting results. The role is expected to drive underwriting excellence across the business through quality assurance practices and training.

What we are looking for

At least 10 years of insurance leadership and US Auto Liability experience.

Knowledge of market segmentation, portfolio management and distribution.

Proven Strategic Leadership skills in developing vision and purpose, driving for results and leading effective teams

Established strong relationships with customers and intermediaries

Skilled leader of change; versatile, client focused, results oriented

Demonstrated business savvy, analytical and quantitative skills

Expert technical underwriting background

Strong problem solving and conflict resolution experience

Responsibilities:

Develop and lead Auto strategy across all business units in North America, including Canada and Excess.

Develop and deliver underwriting guidelines within the framework of risk appetite, underwriting appetite, limits management and emerging risks.

Develop, position, market, and deliver innovative, market-leading products and services through regional framework to a network of producers in a manner that effectively leverages our strengths as a competitive differential in the marketplace. This includes working with Legal, Claims, Actuarial, Filing/Regulatory, Regional and Multinational for rate and form development/filing, and Communications for rollout/launch plan.

Collaboratively develop the business strategy to successfully propel Auto segments into a significant and profitable long-term, sustainable leadership position in the marketplace in support of the company’s ROE objectives over the long-term. This includes detailed monitoring standards / quality reviews to assess loss ratios and underwriting results.

Drive underwriting excellence across the business through quality assurance practices and training.

Develop framework for underwriting authority.

Demonstrate understanding of regulatory and compliance processes and ensure AIG stakeholders understand Auto business model, underwriting methodology, and the risks we assume.

Establish strong relationships with zonal and product leadership; create mutual understanding of overall parameters and goals to drive effective execution of business model.

Drive a culture that promotes collaboration, diversity and inclusion.
