In partnership with operations leadership and CPMG, develops, implements and oversees clinical programs and strategies designed to assure cost effective, high quality delivery and member satisfaction. Provides leadership and direction to departments in areas of performance related to service delivery and utilization of resources for members. Responsible for superior management of day-to-day medical operations and enhancing performance for departments.

Essential Responsibilities:

This position, knows and complies with all Leading Healthcare Company quality, safety, and emergency policies and procedures. Demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice in every interaction with patients, colleagues, providers, and leadership. Ensures patient safety in the preparation and provisioning of care related to but not limited to medications, procedures, infection prevention, fall prevention, including consistent use of two patient identifiers and procedural time outs. Reports safety hazards, accidents and incidents, and unsafe working conditions promptly.

Develops, implements and assures the ongoing effectiveness of programs and strategies to achieve department goals.

Leads workgroups in partnership with the operations leadership and CPMG.

Monitors organizational performance against established targets in clinical areas.

Integrates work plans and produces seamless transition of care for members.

Promotes nursing initiatives and collaboration across departments in multiple facilities.

Develops studies and assures dissemination of best practices where appropriate.

Oversees the care delivery through supervision of departments.

Identifies, develops, implements and evaluates clinical guidelines and education for care. Guides clinical departments in the development of quality guidelines and operationalizes measures of compliance with those guidelines.

Develops policies and procedures to ensure effective operations consistent with organizational objects for quality of care, service and cost effectiveness.

Administers annual operating budget and capital equipment budget for the department. Assists supervisors in the preparation of department budgets. Ensures pm/pm costs are continually improved. Prepares monthly reports and specialized reports with analysis to depict the financial position of the department. Develops plans to optimize revenue.

Coordinates, monitors and maintains health and safety standards for departments.

Manages the day to day supervisory, professional, technical and clerical activities of department; provides leadership and support to supervisors and health plan staff, including hiring and performance review of supervisors. Provides coaching in leadership, labor-management practices.

Consults and coordinates with medical office and department leaders on local issues and general operating practices.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience

Minimum five (5) years of leadership experience.

Education

Bachelor's degree in nursing, health care administration, business administration OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.

High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.

License, Certification, Registration

N/A

Additional Requirements:

Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required to work with internal and external customers.

Strong skills in personal computer applications including word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.

This position does not touch members.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree preferred.

Preferred licensed in the state of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant or any other health care related license.

Notes:

- This is a regional position that will require travel across all CO UC locations.

Will supervise 100+ FTE's including clinical managers across multiple Urgent Care locations.

Urgent Care or Emergency Department experience preferred.

Experience with growing a new department ED or UC center strongly preferred.

Excellent clinical, management and interpersonal skills.
