This position reports to Senior Communications Manager in China.  

Job Scope 

This position is responsible for building and maintaining positive company brand through government relations resources, marketing and communications activities.  

The candidate is primarily to fulfill tasks related to support activities that engages with stakeholders and audiences in China, namely Customers, Suppliers, employees, communities, government and trade associations and industry bodies.

Key Accountabilities 

 Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: 

The person focuses on supporting Lam China leaders to build relationships between Lam and related government departments, industry associations and other related stakeholders. 

One of the roles is to be a conduit for applicable information. The person need be responsible for reviewing related government regulations/reports that apply to our industry and then explaining them to company. In this capacity the person’s objective is to ensure that the company is inform of regulations and potential impact to our business and operations in China.  

The person also serves as an advocate for Lam Research in the industry. He or she may represent Lam before government officials if needed. (He or She is expected to serve as point of contact and support leaders in meetings and engagement or activities related to government and associations). His/Her work can involve performing research on specific issues related to regulations in our industry and draft report per requirement.  

Under supervision of Corporate Communications, provide support to PR projects, customer organized industry activities and marketing events to ensure team provide sufficient support to local business operations. 

Educational Requirements 

Bachelor's degree and above, preferred (not a must have) in public relations, public administration, political science, marketing, communications, or relevant discipline.

English: excellent in written and oral communication is a must.

Required Skills and Experiences 

At least 5 years of working experience in government affairs department in China for MNC. Good knowledge and rich experience in dealing with government authorities. Working experience in government is a plus.

Good investigative skills since the work may involve researching specific policy issues. Problem-solving skill is important to design and propose possible solutions to address Lam’s presence in China; in view of government concerns and focus areas. 

A must to possess excellent communications skills to be an effective communicator.

Experience or working knowledge of traditional media and social media is preferred.

Good organization skill. Experience in supporting marketing events / business project planning and execution; including on the ground support.

Ability to relay data and information in logical and compelling way. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in written English and Chinese.

Has an eye for details and enjoy creative work.

Preferred attributes are strong sense of responsibility to deliver projects to completion, good interpersonal skills, self-motivated and capable of working independently to meet deadlines and budget.  

Positive attitude and possess strong work ethics

Proven track record of working successfully under pressure in a time-constrained environment, dynamic and uncertain situations. 

Willingness to take more responsibility 

Experience and knowledgeable in local customs and policies in China and when interacting with the government bodies and associations.  

Advantageous to candidates who possess experience in managing stakeholders’ demands and ability to balance objectives between local teams and the corporation.  

Can travel (~10-20% per month)
