In concert with the Senior Leaders, Committee/Council staff liaisons and the Board of Governors of AATB develop the AATB Strategic Communication Plan [The Plan] including the scope, cross function connections, overarching Top Level goals, and broad strategies for achieving the top level goals and Key Success Indicators.

Develop the AATB Communications Policies, Procedures and Standard Work Practices for implementing The Plan.

Serves as the liaison to the AATB Communications Committee and Donor Family Services Council.

Serves as the AATB liaison to Donate Life America and DLA Hollywood.

Direct and manage media relations to leverage opportunities, mitigate risk and redirect negative messaging in accordance with The Plan.

Drafts, designs, and distributes all external communications, including AATB announcements, bulletins, and event/webinar marketing messages, using email marketing software.

Monitor, measure and report routinely on the Key Success Indicators, revising tactical plans as needed. 

Develops an aligned operating plan annually for the Communications function, including annual SMART goals, the work plan and the fiscal resources required to execute the annual operating plan. 

Provides leadership, oversight, performance coaching and mentoring for the AATB Web Content Manager.

Working in concert with other department and function leaders manage the vendors and service providers engaged by AATB in support of The Plan. Provide performance feedback to the vendor or service provider routinely and document a vendor assessment of the overall relationship and performance annually as compared to the terms and conditions of the contract or service agreement.

Creates and maintains partnerships with related organizations, such as AOPO and EBAA, and other key stakeholders in accordance with The Plan.

Department Deliverables

Creates and maintains a central list of all AATB internal and external communications, purpose, frequency of communication, delivery method(s), costs, estimated staff time, and reference to applicable annual or strategic plan.  

Creates and manages an editorial calendar for all emails and social media announcements.

Manages all email contact lists.

Tracks and reports all email analytics. 

Works collaboratively with the Web Content Manager to plan, produce, and edit content for the AATB website.

Creates and edits content for other departments’ print or web content as needed.

Produces a bimonthly newsletter (planning, writing, proofreading, editing and formatting content).

Produces an Annual Year in Review (planning, writing, proofreading, editing and formatting content)

Manages all social media channels, including both content creation and audience engagement. 

Coordinates and manages all AATB graphic design projects.

Responds to media inquiries and RFIs.

Drafts and distributes press releases as needed.

Manages weekly newsletter service.

Manages the Communications and Education Awards submissions, reviews, and notifications.

Manages the Rose Parade sponsorship program.

Other Duties and Expectations

Meeting/conference attendance as directed by the Vice President, Meetings & Member Services

Provide assistance to the AATB President & CEO as needed for presentations.
