The Director of Operational Excellence is responsible for directing all aspects of Operational Excellence, driving innovation and fostering a culture of continual improvement with in Commerce, Tribal Services and Healthcare. 

Primary Tasks:

Establish and communicate the Operational Excellence vision, providing strategic direction and leadership to drive continuous improvement in alignment with organizational goals. Design and deliver Continuous Improvement strategic plan in alignment with Operational Excellence.

Foster a continual process improvement culture throughout the organization and serves as a champion/role model for change. Build and train culture using continuous improvement methodology. Identify projects, lessons learned, or best practices that can be replicated for deployment in other areas.

Identify and evaluate significant performance improvement opportunities that impact organizational strategic objectives.

Identify process improvement opportunities and facilitate the design of new processes that creates the greatest value for the organization in terms of guest service, performance excellence, accountability and compliance. Build capabilities throughout the organization to improve processes, drive efficiencies and create measurable financial returns.

Advise on project portfolio and ensure that the portfolio of projects is well-aligned with strategy and delivers results as defined by appropriate and clear measures. Oversee the planning, management, execution and tracking of all process improvement initiatives.

Assist in design of innovative solutions that will enable the organization to improve financial and service delivery performance, associate and guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency.

Assess organizational performance and determines root cause(s) of performance issues. Proactively identify and work to remove barriers that slow or prevent the successful attainment of goals and objectives.

Maintain close relationships with management teams to drive support, buy-in, and promote transparency as to operational needs. Works cross-functionally with business leaders and process owners to deliver improvement opportunities.

Required Education, Skills and Experience: 

MINIMUM

Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business or related field.

Lean Six Sigma Black Belt / LEAN certification.

Able to lead, execute, complex process improvement projects. Strong project management skills required.

Excellent leadership, facilitation, and communication skills.

Ability to influence with indirect or no authority. Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization.

Ability to teach, coach, mentor other belts + lean practitioners.

Demonstrated experience in building new programs and developing staff to support successful execution.

Self-starter with excellent organization skills.

Experience leading broad change management initiatives with a demonstrated ability to see the “big picture”.

Ten (10) years’ experience in an OpEx, Gaming Hospitality, and/or Gaming Food & Beverage role within a leadership capacity.

TARGET

Master’s degree, in Hospitality, Business or related field.

Professional Lean Six Sigma, LEAN, PMP or comparable BPM certification. 

Professional Facilitation certification.

Extensive experience leading broad change management initiatives with a demonstrated ability to see the “big picture”.

Superior communication skills that result in high levels of cooperation and interdepartmental collaboration.

Ability to teach, coach, mentor other belts + lean practitioners.

Demonstrated experience in building new programs and developing staff to support successful execution.

Self-starter with excellent organization skills.

Experience leading broad change management initiatives with a demonstrated ability to see the “big picture”.

Fifteen (15) years’ experience in an OpEx, Gaming Hospitality, and/or Gaming Food & Beverage role within a leadership capacity.
