The Contracts Director will serve as a Product Line Contracts Director in the BAE Systems’ Electronic Combat Solutions (ECS) Business Area Tactical Aircraft Solutions (TACAIR) Product Line. The TACAIR Product Line is a complex and challenging portfolio that consists of several critical major development and production programs including DEWS, EPAWSS, C130 RFCM and the 56C/56M programs. The DEWS and EPAWSS represent the current and future state of our advanced digital RFEW systems for 4th generation fighters and large aircraft in ECS. The position requires a highly organized candidate with strong leadership, management and communication skills with international contracting experience. The selected candidate will support the ECS Senior Contracts Director in providing leadership to the functional organization, support the development and growth of employees, support carrying out the vision of the function as well as make recommendations on the overall strategy for the business. 

ECS is a $1.5b annual sales Business Area consisting of five (5) Product Lines providing leading technology mission specialized/critical Electronic Warfare for 4th and 5th generation Tactical Aircrafts and well as many critical classified technology programs. 

Roles and Responsibilities:

Guide, direct and evaluate the activities of Contract personnel at various labor grades. Support the growth and development of the next generation Contracts managers and leaders within the Business Area.

Implementation and maintenance of Contracts policies and procedures, including ensuring adequate processes are in place to ensure compliance.

Oversee proposal activities, such as proposal preparation and submittal, contracting strategy and risk mitigation, teaming strategies and approvals.

Responsible for conducting and coordinating proposal reviews, pre-approval of strategic alliances, other business agreements within the Business Area and with Sector and Corporate as required.

Responsible for preparation, review and pre-approval of strategic alliances and other business agreements prior to requesting Sector approval.

Interface and manage the relationships with key government contracting and procurement officials as required and/or needed.

Responsible for keeping staff informed, motivated, and working efficiently.

Support acquisition, due diligence, and integration activities, as required

Work with other functions to develop strategies for new business opportunities.

Typical Education & Experience 

Bachelor's Degree and 15 years work experience

Required Skills and Education 

Active, Current Secret clearance

Bachelor’s degree and 15 years of related experience

Functional Management experience

US Government and International contracting experience with understanding of Military Aircraft and Electronic Warfare markets

Significant Proposal Preparation experience

Proven competency in team leadership and the development of high performing, diverse teams

Business acumen and ability to develop and provide guidance of a strategic nature regarding customers, top line growth and overall performance of the Business Area

Preferred Skills and Education 

Top Secret (TS) level clearance level

MBA, JD or other advanced degree

NCMA Certifications/involvement in local chapter
