Emphasis of the credit and risk team is liaising with the Sales team and acquiring partners to assist with the development, expansion and risk avoidance activities of the business and loss management.


The responsibilities and activities are broadly classified in below two areas:


Key Responsibilities:


Credit Underwriting and Periodic Review


Managing merchant credit assessment through the underwriting process.

Performing credit risk analysis and providing inputs to underwriting decision.

Conducting fundamental review on high risk accounts and complex deals (e.g. Airlines) using detailed financial statement analysis, credit bureau reports, sector analysis, and other third party information.

Ensuring underwriting and periodic review processes and procedures adhere to local legislation (legal and compliance impacts) and Fiserv credit policy.

Defining and putting in place controls to verify adherence of underwriting and periodic review processes to the agreed policies and SLA.

Determining and negotiating with clients on security / collateral amounts.


Acquiring Partners Assessment and Risk Governance 


Conducting credit assessment on acquiring partners (i.e. ISO, Payment Facilitator, MarketPlace)

Performing due diligence on acquiring partners’ credit policy and procedures in boarding merchants

Performing sample review of relevant credit documents, assessment records, and settlement evidence to ensure partners’ processes and procedures are in line with Fiserv standards and regulatory requirement

Ongoing monitoring of partner performance, conducting periodic audit, and preparing audit report with remediation recommendations/requirement.

Tracking the deployment of remediation actions to ensure gaps are closed within agreed timeframe.


Skills and experience:


Degree qualified, or equivalent experience.

At least 5 years' experience in credit analysis or risk management environment.

Payment risk and acquiring partner risk management experience preferred

Understanding of merchant acquiring processes including credit underwriting, merchant disputes, chargeback processing, card schemes (e.g. VISA/MasterCard) rules and regulations

Proven understanding and application of risk management practices.

Familiar with regulatory AML compliance requirement

Demonstrated ability to negotiate with differ levels of stakeholders.

Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to makes sound decisions.

Passion to learn new skills and ability to gain an understanding quickly.
