We seek a Cyber Risk & Assurance Managing Director who will assist in the growth and management of the Information Assurance & Cybersecurity advisory domain. This role may be based out of most of our offices with preference for our Tysons, VA or Raleigh, NC locations.

Our Risk & Accounting Advisory Services (RAAS) group serves our Advisory and Audit practices by helping clients to evaluate, understand, and address operational, financial, compliance, IT, and strategic risk. We provide Accounting Advisory, Risk Advisory, and Information Assurance & Cybersecurity services. RAAS typically works with mid-size to large public and private commercial clients to provide a full spectrum of risk advisory and control services in diverse business environments across a variety of industries.  

Our Advisory business is booming and to continue this success, we seek a strategic builder, with strong business acumen, to help manage growth, resource utilization, and the client service delivery process in our Information Assurance & Cybersecurity advisory domain. This practice focuses on providing strategies to our clients to help them to implement programs to strengthen security and privacy. We’re looking for a thought leader who will contribute to expanding the practice, working closely with other members of the leadership team, to mature current offerings as well as develop new emerging service lines for the firm. Exceptional client relationship skills and business development experience are a must.


  • Develop and drive client capture strategies and account plans for the Information Assurance & Cybersecurity domain.

  • Ensure that services to clients are of the highest quality and consistently applied across clients.

  • Perform and manage engagements and cybersecurity assessments against third party cybersecurity criteria (SOC, NIST, HIPAA, HITRUST, FFIEC, ISO, PCI, CMMC, etc.) IT Audit (SOX).

  • Manage profitability of engagements, including (but not limited to) staffing levels, utilization, salaries, billing rates, realization, WIP, accounts receivable, and controllable expenses, to achieve excellent financial results, including meeting or exceeding budget.

  • Consistently grow the practice through expansion of services to existing clients and obtaining new client

  • Utilize content marketing, social media, and other means to demonstrate and share cybersecurity thought leadership.

  • Leverage international shared service center.

  • Recruit, develop and retain domain staff.

What Do You Need for this Role?  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or other business-related field.

  • Active credential(s) related to service offerings such as CISA, CISSP, CEH, CISM, CCSFP, CITP, CRISC, etc. CPA required. 

  • 10+ years of demonstrated third-party Security assessment, Technical Cyber, IT audit, and Privacy Risk experience; 5+ years’ experience working in consulting (CPA) environment.   

  • Experience and proficiency with technology risk management, cybersecurity governance principles, network & infrastructure cybersecurity best practices.

  • Knowledge of vulnerability assessment and penetration testing technologies, incident response and threat-hunting, host and network forensic technologies.

  • Working knowledge of desktop, mobile and endpoint operating systems, and networking technologies. 

  • Familiarity with cloud environments and technologies. 

  • Experience with IDAM, Active Directory/LDAP and other authentication technologies.

  • Knowledge of management and IT governance principles and familiarity with cybersecurity/Privacy enterprise solution offerings used to meet business and technical objectives.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to evangelize the firm by way of written or spoken thought leadership – blogs, podcasts, white papers, case studies, webinars, seminars.

  • Candidate's strongest traits must be in client service and business development, leading to growth.

  • Strong leadership and staff development skills.

  • Excellent problem solving, organizational, and analytical skills.

  • Knowledge and experience with international operations and shared service centers.

  • Experience designing the tools to automate key compliance processes and functions (RPA, AI).

  • Demonstrated ability to embrace and leverage technology.

  • Limited travel should be expected.
