- Advise UBS entities in North America on data protection and data privacy compliance matters and review permissibility of personal data collection and processing as well as adherence to data protection principles. Support business with assessing changes in local personal data processing activities, in accordance with UBS policies and control processes

- Act as a contact person for data subjects on data privacy matters, review process of responding to data subject rights being exercised as applicable

- Monitor compliance of personal data processing with applicable data protection and data privacy laws and UBS policies and perform related controls

- Support execution of central Data Protection Office processes including the administration of International Data Transfer Agreements (IDTAs), review of privacy notices and management of privacy risks

- Engage and support communication with local authorities and commissions on privacy matters

- Participate in Breach Incident Process Task force in case of personal data breaches as required

Your team

The Group Data Protection Office (DP Office) is led by the Group Data Protection Officer (Group DPO), with the mandate to ensure UBS' adherence with data privacy laws and regulations globally. It is set-up as an independent, non-business instructed office in Compliance and Operational Risk Control (C&ORC) Corporate Center within Group Compliance, Regulatory & Governance (GCRG). The Group DPO located in Switzerland is supported by regional DPOs, a team of Local Data Protection Contacts ("LDPC") covering key UBS locations globally as well as a central team of SMEs. To fulfill its mandate, the Group Data Protection Office works closely with key stakeholders across the UBS organization.

You are

You are an experienced professional looking to work in a dynamic environment on data privacy matters affecting UBS. You have solid analytical skills and understanding of the financial services industry. Your excellent interpersonal and communication skills enable you to communicate to key stakeholders. We are in particular looking for candidates with the following profile:

You have

- Academic degree in relevant area, including Business, Legal or Audit

- At least 8-10 years proven relevant experience in data privacy or related field, preferably in the financial industry with leading institutions or with supervisory authorities

- Extensive knowledge of data protection and data privacy laws and regulations with ability to translate into operational implications for the UBS Organization and experience in implementing processes and procedures to ensure compliance in accordance with applicable laws and UBS policies. Banking and investment products, services and processes knowledge is a plus

- Ability to maneuver within the UBS organization and build and manage productive working relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of the organization

- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills

- Certification by the International Association of Privacy Professionals in privacy laws and regulation in both EU and US a strong plus (IAPP/E/US)
