Job Description


The Director, Activation Strategy will be an expert in the paid social space with a thorough understanding of key consumer touchpoints across paid, owned and earned social. The Director must be able establish and foster client relationships on consultancy engagements. A self-confident, extroverted style that can enliven, engage and positively impact individuals and groups is essential. The Director should have a thorough understanding of all major social platform capabilities and be able to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences. The Director will also work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, agency teams, and strategic partners, to create integrated solutions that solve client challenges.


Responsibilities



  • Lead social activation programs for full accountability to clients during the course of an engagement – managing the execution and timely, satisfactory project delivery

  • Deep understanding of the paid social space to deliver against business outcomes

  • Curate first-to-market client driven solutions – inclusive of activation support, collateral development, and testing frameworks

  • Develop social activation use cases and review client deliverables for quality and ensure that recommendations are sound and viable

  • Establish and foster relationships with assigned clients, building trust and facilitating smooth and timely exchanges

  • Oversee evaluation of existing social activation practices for strategic client accounts to ensure best practices are observed

  • Identify opportunities within assigned engagements for incremental project work as well as broader services opportunities

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advise on the use of emerging social networks (Reddit, Tik Tok, etc.) based on client priorities

  • Ability to manage a team of high performing individuals

  • Understand and effectively communicate Publicis Media Consulting’s value proposition, technology, and processes as related to the growth of current and prospective agency accounts


Qualifications



  • 7+ years’ experience in paid social media, with an emphasis in social activation (minimum 4 years trading experience)

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably with a concentration in advertising, marketing, business administration, and communications preferred.

  • Extensive familiarity and past experience with project-based client work

  • Strong verbal, visual and written communication skills, particularly in blending analysis and narrative to create compelling slide presentations and business proposals

  • Possess confidence, composure, and polished presentation skills to effectively attend and lead meetings

  • Passionate about working in an extremely fast-paced and demanding environment

  • Strong understanding of major social platform algorithms, ad products, optimization levers, and roadmaps also pertaining to broader industry developments

  • Extensive experience in campaign management and optimization across Facebook/Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, LinkedIn, and Pinterest.

  • Advanced knowledge of 3P measurement capabilities and restrictions within the primary social partners

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to coordinate and lead projects across multiple teams and functions

  • Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner

  • Advanced content development skills with extensive PowerPoint experience and attention to detail

  • Team oriented, approachable and viewed as coach and mentor to others

  • (+) Excel fluency in pivot tables, charts, vlookups and basic equations—knowledge of macros and visual basic is a plus. Comfortable working with large data sets, analyzing reporting and identifying trends
