Lead the team in gathering data, conducting analyses and developing recommendations that provide insight into business results, drive process enhancements and support the organization's financial and strategic objectives.
Lead the team to implement analytic projects from conception to conclusion; Become a subject matter expert on Finance operations data and play instrumental roles in supporting strategic initiatives.
Identify and synthesize primary finance operations data, such as billing and payments for analysis relevant to research question.
Design and manage experiments and pilots to test hypothesis or generate test and control observation data.
Maintain a high level of organizational and operational awareness; independently seek out opportunities to generate incremental business value.
Maintain a high level of awareness on industry best practices, new technologies and technical advances facilitating decision sciences and systems engineering; provide recommendations on tools and techniques.
Develop and deliver PowerPoint presentations and internal written memos succinctly and effectively communicating technical ideas to non-technical sr. management audiences. Present analysis on regular basis to Finance senior management team in a fashion that translates complex work into an easy to digest story with an appropriate level of detail.
Provide peer review, mentorship and technical guidance to more junior research analysts.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in applied mathematics, operational research, systems engineering, decision sciences, statistics, financial engineering or other quantitative discipline required. Advanced degree preferred.
Minimum 8+ years relevant work experience with progressive responsibility. Advanced education may be substituted for years of experience.
Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and data manipulation (SQL)
Proficiency in SAS required. Expert skills in other statistical software packages (e.g. R, python) and PowerBI desirable
Advanced analytical/problem solving and research (i.e., data investigation) skills
In-depth knowledge of the finance billing and business practices and processes preferred
Must have exceptional planning, analytical, communication, and organization skills and be able to work independently and lead others during projects
Ability to foster and encourage teamwork and productive working relationships with stakeholders at all levels and across organizational lines. Ability to manage stakeholder expectations
Strong business acumen and communication skills, as well as ability to develop executive presentations
Must have exceptional leadership, decision making, and organization skills
