The Director, Business Development will be responsible to:


• Develop and execute an individual business development plan for Leave and Absence management based on your in depth knowledge of integrated disability management solutions

• Focus on lead generation activities within the region to drive client activity and new sales opportunities

• Proactively pursue targets, and develops strategic relationships with key contacts from prospects

• Maintain and leverage existing partner, consultant and broker connections across the region

• Strategically manage the growth of customer relationships to the successful close of a sales cycle

• Lead identified client opportunities (e.g. RFI, RFPs) with support of broader team of subject matter experts and regional team leads

• Support client strategies that bridge multiple line of business, and work collaboratively across Morneau Shepell to sell these solutions

• Participate fully in national sales campaigns and regional conferences

• Coordination and participation in sales/marketing events, as required

 

Succeeding as the Director, Business Development will require the following core qualifications and skills:


• 5+ years of progressive experience in business development with proven track record of success in lead generation, sales opportunity management, and market development

• Strong experience, knowledge and a well-developed network of connections within integrated disability management, Leave management, ADA, FMLA,Employee Assistance Program, health and wellness, group benefits, and/or occupational health

• Has established first level connections at the regional consultant/ broker level

• Strong business acumen and experience with client strategy development, comfort in discussing a technology solution as well as an outsourced solution

• Proven experience developing business development plans, and leading sales cycle from prospect to close

• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across multiple lines of business

• Strong interpersonal skills coupled with excellent written and oral communication skills

• Proven organizational skills, professional maturity

• Strategic thinking, time management skills allow and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment will lead to success

• BS / BA or Equivalent Work Experience
