The Director of Business Development will be responsible for generating revenue and achieving individual sales targets by focusing on upselling and cross selling into our current book of business. The individual contributor will work with a team of experienced business development professionals. We are seeking an entrepreneurial, strategic leader with a proven record of accomplishment of driving results through collaborative relationships with our successful sales and marketing team. Must be flexible to travel within North America.


Primary Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sales strategies that successfully achieve revenue goals across existing service lines for health and wellness specifically leave and absence management 

• Proactively pursue key targets, and develop deep relationships and high levels of intimacy within these prospects

• Strategically monitor the growth of internal relationships to the successful close of a sales cycle

• Lead opportunities In collaboration with broader enterprise subject matter expertise

• Ensure that the brand achieves optimal market penetration and is recognized as a global industry leader by key brokers, decision makers and consumers

• Actively participate in national sales campaigns; regional conferences and sales/marketing events, as required

• Continue to develop and leverage existing partner, consultant and broker connections 

• Establish and build strong working relationships with business leaders and team members across the enterprise

• Collaborate with leadership team to ensure we are strategically positioned for continual growth and remain at the leading edge of the industry


Job Qualifications

• Demonstrated progressive success in lead generation, sales opportunity management, and market development in a HR service, employee benefits or insurance industry

• High comfort level with C-suite executives and selling into Human Resources and Large Corporations 

• Proven track record of developing business development plans, and leading sales cycle from prospect to close 

• Strong business acumen and experience with client strategy development, comfort in discussing a technology solution as well as an outsourced solution

• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across multiple lines of business

• Proven track record of closing new business and exceeding sales targets using a highly consultative approach in analyzing challenges of potential clients

• Experience with Sales pipeline reporting and CRM tools 

• BS/BA required; Master’s degree a plus
