The Director Corporate Strategy is responsible for building and leading the Corporate Strategy function. Defines and develops response plans to competitive threats that leverage core competencies and competitive advantages. Responsible for driving cross functional teams to execute the activities that comprise strategic plans. Drives key strategic initiatives and supports the development of long-term growth plans and profitability objectives.
The Main Responsibilities
Monitoring, synthesizing and distilling competitive threats from a variety of established players and new entrants across various communication and networking markets
Developing response plans to competitive threats that leverage core competencies and competitive advantages
Identifying unmet needs in the communications and networking industry
Driving cross functional teams to execute the activities that comprise strategic plans
Leads the ongoing Strategic Planning effort enterprise-wide.
Drives key strategic initiatives and supports the development of long-term growth plans and profitability objectives
Projects include analysis and recommendations related to emerging industry trends, expansion opportunities including mergers and acquisitions, competitive threats, viability of outside business partners, venture capital sources, internal business performance and business process improvement.
Researches and analyzes the company’s markets, competition and product mix.
Tracks product market share using established resources or by identifying reliable means for estimation.
Researches and makes presentations on new market areas.
Analyzes the competitive environment and future trends and makes recommendations.
May utilize statistical and data mining tools and large datasets.
Analyzes market data to identify trends/opportunities, develops strategic direction from market information, and creates compelling market analysis presentations.
Conducts environmental scans, organizational positioning analyses and other studies
May conduct or facilitate periodic reviews of achievements and performance vs. strategic plans
Anticipates internal and/or external business challenges and/or regulatory issues; recommends process, product or service improvements.
Leads teams or projects with broad visibility to achieve milestones and objectives.
What We Look For in a Candidate
Bachelor’s Degree required and MBA preferred
Deep expertise with financial analysis, scenario modeling, and business case development
Exceptional ability to analyze and dissect industry trends and competitive markets
Exceptional ability to communicate with senior leaders and team members in written form, PowerPoint and verbally
8-10 years related experience (communication industry preferred) with 3+ years in experience at the managerial level
Experience in nationally significant consulting firm a plus
